I don't have this in the order of birth of their children, but these were the ones I found: J. Causey born 4-2-1888, died 12-9-1937 was married to Maude Shirley born 8-4-1888 and died 9-29-1972. These were my grandparents and at this time here's the information I have on their children: Edna Surratt Carrick is the oldest and still living, I will be sending her birthdate later, their second child was my father Homer (Pat) Virgil Surratt born 2-7-1917 and died 12-17-2002. He was married to Kathleen Beck who was born 11-22-1922 and died 9-17-1981. They had 2 daughters: Shelia S. Hoover born 12-14-1959 who is married to Michael Hoover born 9-7-1957. We have 2 sons, Will David Hoover born 8-9-1990 and Andrew Michael Hoover born 9-21-1992. My sister, Sherry S. O'Neill born 8-5-1962 is married to Scott O'Neill born 3-14-1960. Elizabeth Delk belonged to William Jasper Delk and Basha Surratt. Then I have Basha's sister Utha Surratt who married William Henry Harrison and their families. They have been trying to help me over 10 years now. Because my Pierce was living with them here in Arkansas County, AR in 1900. I just couldn't get back to NC and find his parents. All along we knew that it was going to be one of the Surratt girls. I have William J. Pierce back to Eli and Anna Nance. Then Eli' s father was Ansel Pierce. So I have just now since 1992 found all this out. I haven't entered all of this into my family tree program but will be doing so this next week. Thank you so much. If you are interested, I have some of William's descendents information. I was also sent a copy of William's marriage license (m. Elsie Elizabeth "Lizzie" Jackson) by Julie Hampton Ganis who maintains a Union county, NC genealogy website (rootsweb). I am sure I have information on the William, Surratt (Rev) and Juda (Judeth) and their son Alexander and daughter Jane Surratt and then, more specifically Alexander's sons Dockery and Dennis Surratt who are not traced on the web site I found about the Surratts. In a nutshell Alexander is really James Alexander and I believe I can show that his son listed as Dennis is actually Thomas Dennis by his death certificate. On it he lists his father as James Alex Surratt and his mother as Dorothy (Dorsey) Hall (Alexander's first wife). Thomas Dennis birthday is Nov 27, 1866. On the death certificate of Alexander, he is listed as James Alex Surratt, parents listed William Surratt and Juda Smith, born in 1851 and died Jan 16, 1930 although the web site has it lists his death as Jan 16, 1929. You can easily track Alexander and his brother Lorenzo (Lorenza) Dow Surratt living next to each other through the census and see that Lorenzo is often listed just as Dow (his middle name) and he lives next to Alexander and then 10 years later to James A. Surratt. Their wives names stay the same and their children so it is easy to show they are the same Surratt groups. Anyway Alexander is James Alexander and Dennis is Thomas Dennis (who dies on June 30, 1930). Another thing I stumbled across is William and Judy (Judeth)'s daughter Jane Surrarr. Similarly Jane is only her middle name. She is actually Louise Jane Surratt and I found she marries Emmanuel Jones Coggin(s) on Jan 8, 1867. Her son Joseph Coggins is living with his grandfather William Surratt and his wife Juda in the 1880 Census. Didn't trace when Jane or Emmanuel Coggins dies. Dockory is William Dockery Surratt who eventually moved to Fort Howard area in Maryland. William Dockery Surratt, was born on Sept 15, 1888. Married on April 29, 1913 to Daisy E. Johnson., 1st Dau - Margurite E, born Aug 11, 1914, m. M Joseph Hinkelman on 12 July 1934; She was 19 he was 26. d. Mar 05, 1997. 2nd Dau - Virginia J, born Jan 15, 1916, m. M. Pierre A. DeRoose on __ Oct 1935- he was 25, she was 19. d. Nov 10, 2000. 1st Son - William Dennis, born Nov 06, 1917, m. Edna Viola Gunther on __ ___ ????, Died on Apr 22, 2001.
