He joined the Army in 1865 and returned home at the close of the war and was married to Miss Mary Jane Six, April 2, 1868. To this union was born two sons. He united with the Union Baptist Church during his early married life. He was re-married to Mrs. Anna A. Williams, Nov 20, 1876. In 1878 he emigrated to Thayer Co, Nebraska, where he has resided ever since. He leaves a wife and ten children, two brothers and one sister to mourn his loss. He was a kind and loving husband and father, a good friend and neighbor and esteemed by all who knew him. The funeral was held at the Christian Church Sunday, Sept 4th, at 2 o'clock p.m., conducted by Rev. J. Bruce Wylie, pastor of the Methodist Church of Crab Orchard, assisted by the local pastor, and he was laid to rest in the Belvidere Cemetary. Robertson (Williams) Sarratt, wife of Amos Sarratt. ANNA A. SARRATT was born June 11, 1850, at Middletown, Butler Co., Ohio and died April 6, 1922, at Lincoln, NE, at the age of 71 years, 9 months and 25 days. Mrs Sarratt united with the Reorganized Church of Latter Day Saints of Jesus Christ in the winter of 1864 and continued a faithful member until the time of her death. She was married to John Williams on April 2, 1868. To this union was born one daughter, Mrs. Stella Tuttle, now living at Salina, Kansas. Mr Williams passed away from this life April 4, 1874. On November 20, 1876, Anna was united in marriage to Amos B. Sarratt. To this union were born nine children, all of whom survive. They are: David and Duval of Belvidere, Nebr; Bernard and Leonard of Genoa, Colo; Oscar and Mattie, of Nebraska City; Edith Baumgart, of Lincoln, NE; Mayme Black of Grand Island, Nebr; and Hazel Priddy of Salina, Kansas. Besides her husband, she leaves to mourn her departure two small children: Betty, age 6 and Mannie, age 4; her mother Mrs Saunders, and one sister of Rushville, MO. She was a kind and loving wife and will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
