 Men mostly from:  Bedford, Rutherford, Smith, Dickson, Franklin, Lincoln, Sumner, Williamson, and Wilson Counties
 Captains:  Robert Allen, George Brandon, Ota Cantrell, John B. Demsey, William Edwards, John Hanby, John Harpole, David Hogan, Francis Jones, William Martin, Andrew Patterson, James Walton, Isaac Williams, Thomas Yardley
 Brief History:  Along with Colonel John Alcorn's regiment, this unit was part of General John Coffee's brigade that conducted the first campaign into the Creek Nation. Marching from Fayetteville, they went through Huntsville; crossed the Tennessee River at Ditto's Landing (mid-October 1813); stopped at Fort Strother; and fought in the battles at Tallushatchee and Talladega (3 November and 9 November 1813). Muster rolls show that just about every company in this regiment suffered casualties in these battles.
 Note:
 No Pension was ever filed. (he died before Pension Act. March 03, 1871)
 His "1st Cousin" Joseph M. SARRETT, (1st s/o Samuel,3 & Nancy (JOHNSON) SARRETT) was also in this same Company.  Both of these boys were named after their Grandfather Joseph,3 SARRATT...prs

The next census was in [REF: #20] 1860, Benton County, TN, Post Office Camden, TN., we find that JOSEPH H. SARRETT, had died prior to this Census and son N. H. SARRETT, 38 yrs, listed as "Head of House-hold", and his Occupation was listed as "Wagon Maker"; Base on the Value of his Real Estate and Personal property N.H. SARRETT, was a prosperous man. Their were only two people living on the farm. His mother FINCY (Harvey) SARRETT was listed at 66 yrs. (should be 68 based on 1850 Census) and his brother ALVN "Jacob" who was 24 years of age, Occupation "Farmer". One farm away (F.G. 1142-3) was WILLIAM and CAROLINE HOLLINGSWORTH Family. H/H N. H. SARETT, M, 38, 1822, TN., Wagon Maker $1,211, $731 Mother: FINCY (Harvey), F, 66, 1794, TN. Brother: JACOB SARETT, M, 24, 1836, TN.

Was listed at age 14 yrs., living with parents in the Benton Co., Tn. 1850 Census. His brother N. H. SARRETT was listed as "Head of House-hold" with mother and younger brother ALVAN "Jacob" in the Benton Co., Tn. 1860 Census;

Before ALVA "Jacob" SARRETT, married he enlisted in the Confederate States America, (CSA) Army in May, 1861, with Co. "E", 5th. Tenn. Infantry Regiment; Received Confederate Pension #1501 Application, Benton, listed as SURRAT. He was in the Battle of Shiloh, shot through the left arm, above the elbow. Also completely lost his hearing in one ear and partial loss in the other. He was furloughed to his mother's home to recuperate and was never able to rejoin his Regiment.
