(Son of JAMES D. & Fannie (Waters) Haggard Sarrett)
(1/4 D.I.B.) b. 11 Jan. 1843, 58 in Sevier Co., TN.; Was Shot and
killed at the Battle of Mufreesboro or Stone River, Tenn., during
the Civil War, Union, on 03 Jan. 1863 68 at the young age of 19
years, 11 Months and 22 Days (9 days before his 20th Birthday);
He was listed in the 1850 Census for Sevier Co., Tn. as 8 yrs. of
age, living with his parents and attending school; Was listed in the
1860 Census as 17 years of age living with his parents, and farming
on his fathers land.
At the age of 19 years, on 01 Dec. 1862, in Sevier Co., TN. WILLIAM
J. SARRETT, Enrolled; he Mustered in as a Private, in the "K"
Company, 2nd. Tennessee Infantry, Volunteer's on the 31st. of December,
1862 at Nashville. 32 days later on evening of the 03rd. of January,
1863 he died from Wounds he received at Stone River, Tenn. He was
19 years, 11 Months and 22 days old at the time of his death, 9 days
before his 20th. Birthday.
The Military Record on file at the National Archives and Record
Service in Washington, DC has only 8 Company Muster Roll records
and a Casualty Sheet record, his Enrollment or Sign-up record
is not available.

not Mrs. Bohanan?..prs) at the age of 70 years, in Knox Co. Tenn.;
Buried location Unknown; She was listed in the 1850 Census, for Sevier
Co., TN. at 7 years of age, living with Parents; She was listed in
the 1860 Census for Sevier Co., Tn. as 16 years of age, and living
with her parents; Her Occupation was listed as a "SPINSTER";
She married twice, first when she was 23 years old, she was married
by the Justice of the Peace Mr. JESSIE HILL, of Sevierville, TN.
on 28 Dec. 1867, in Sevier Co., TN., to The Rev. J. ABSOLEN McCARTER;
53 b. about 1846, Location Tennessee; d. about 1892, at the age
of 46 years; Buried in the Oldham's Creek Cemetery, also called "Boggertown"
Cemetery, Sevier Co., TN. He was the Son of JAMES, I McCARTER and
Wife EDNA (Unknown) McCARTER; They had Six children born to this

the age of 51 years, she married a second time, on 13 Dec. 1895, by
Mr. A. D. ELDOR, J.P., in Sevier Co., TN., to JAMES BOHANAN; b.
c1843, TN; d. Unknown; Son of HENRY and CATHERINE BOHANAN; (Based
on 1850 Census, Sevier Co., TN. F.G. 411...prs) No Issue born to
this second Union.

TN. to MARTHA ANN ATCHLEY; b. on 21 JUN. 1848, in Sevier Co., TN.;
d. 15 DEC. 1931, in Sevier Co., TN., at the age of 83 years, 5 months,
and 24 days; she is buried along side of her husband SAMUEL H. SARRETT,
in the Adler Branch Cemetery, Sevier Co., TN.; MARTHA was the daughter
of ISAAC & MARY (BOWERS) ATCHLEY;
SAMUEL H. SARRETT & MARTHA A. (ATCHLEY) SARRETT had Eleven children
born from this union, all in Sevier Co., TN.; Only six children

in the "Shiloh Cemetery, Sevier Co., TN. She was listed in the
1850 Census for Sevier Co., Tn. as 1 year old and living with her
parents; Was listed in the 1860 Census as 11 years of age and living
with her parents. At 17 years of age she was Married by the Justice
of the Peace JESSE HILL, Esq. on the 12 Aug. 1866 at Catlettsburg,
Sevier Co., TN. (Marriage Bk. Pg. 99..prs) to the 23 old JAMES
M. HARDEN/HARDIN; b. 09 Jan. 1843, Sevierville, TN.; d. 06 Nov. 1911,
at the age of 68 years, 9 months and 27 days, in Sevier Co., TN.;
He is buried along side of his wife in the "Shiloh" Cemetery,
Sevier Co., TN.; He was the son of CAFREY M. HARDIN and wife MARY
(DAVIS) HARDIN; They had Two children born to this union:

Sevier Co., Tn.; d. 13 March 1889 58 at the young age of 37 years,
10 Months and 11 Days, Location Unknown; Buried Unknown, believe to
be in Alder Branch Cemetery; Was listed in the 1860 Census (F.G.
718) as "Delly" 9 years of age and living with her parents.
Was listed as Francis D. Sarrett, age of 20 yrs. living with her
"Widowed" Mother in the 1870 Census; DELLIE SARRETT was
married twice, first she was listed as "DELLIA" 50 when
a Marriage license was issued on 24 Aug. 1872, (It was returned for
Certification the next day 25th. Aug. prs..) This Marriage was Solemnized
by the Rev. PLEASANT M. ATCHLEY, in Sevier Co. to the 28 year old
WILLIAM R. VARNELL; b. c1844, Sevier Co., Tenn.; d. on the 14 Jul.
1874, at the age of 30 years, in his home, in Sevier County, TN; He
is buried in the "Old Grist" Cemetery, Sevier Co., No dates
listed on Headstone; (In the Declaration of Pension Increase for
Children under 16 years of age list cause of death as diseases contacted
from exposure in the service of the United States...) On the 24th
Sep. 1863, he joined at or near Sevierville, the Co. "I",
3rd. Tenn. Cavalry Regiment (Union); Is believed to be a son of
JOSIAH and MARGARET (Unknown) VARNELL; WILLIAM R. & DELLIE (SARRETT)
VARNELL, had two children born to this short union (1 yr. 10 Months & 10 Days)

1877, Solemnized by the Rev. NOAH H. HAGGARD, (Son of JAMES & MATILIDA
(ATCHLEY) HAGGARD...prs) in Sevier Co., TN. to the 48 year old McCAMPBELL
MAPLES, as his 2nd. Wife; McCAMPBELL MAPLES; b. about 1829, Sevier
Co., TN.; d. Unknown date, before 1892 ?; He was the 4th. Son of JAMES,
Sr. MAPLES and Wife NANCY (BUCKNER) MAPLES; McCAMPBELL MAPLES and
his first wife ANNA (Unknown) MAPLES, had 10 children, born to this
first marriage; He had two more children born the 2nd. marriage; After
the death of DELLIE (SARRETT) VARNELL MAPLES, in 1889, these two
children, became Wards of Nephew of McCAMPBELL MAPLES PINK and
MARY (McMAHAN) MAPLES reasons Unknown...prs
