3rd regiment of Artillery U.S. Army, now stationed at Fort Canby in the
State of Washington,
has been promoted to be First Lieutenant of Artillery.
His home is in Gaffney, where his brothers and sisters are living.
He has many friends here who are proud of his promotion and are confident
that his high character will point him out for still higher places.

Daughter of Col. Edwin O. Sarratt and Charlotte Norton Sarratt. Joined the Women's Army Auxiliary Corps in 1943
and later the Women's Army Corps when it became a part of the regular Army. Remained in the Active Reserve until
1963 when she retired as a Major.
Preceded in death by her parents, her Father in 1944 and Mother in 1953
and her brothers,

I have uncovered an old photo of Edwin O. Sarratt included with old photos of my family from Union, SC.
I do not believe Edwin is a relative of mine but rather an "in-law".
He is perhaps a sibling of Clara Hoey Sarratt? (1887-?).
I have attached a copy of the photo. On the back it says:
"Colonel Edwin Olive Sarratt USoCar. Grad and West Point grad.4 yrs S.C. College later became USC."
