     JACOB⁹ BOWMAN  was born March 07, 1848 in Puslinch, Ontario, Canada¹, and died November 02, 1897 in Puslinch, Ontario, Canada². He married KEZIAH PRIOR October 25, 1880 in Fergus, Ontario³, daughter of WILLIAM PRIOR and AMY UNKNOWN. She was born May 01, 1860 in Arthur, Ontario, Canada.

Notes for JACOB BOWMAN:

Witnesses to the baptism were George Budd (Bott) and Louise Diemert.

Jacob signed the birth registration of his son James Wesley with his mark (x)indicating that he probably could not write. His occupation on this same document is that of "labourer".

Notes for KEZIAH PRIOR:

In 1919 Keziah was a widow of Thomas Peacock and was residing at 191 Elizabeth St. in Guelph.

In 1928 Keziah was living at 212&1/2 Elizabeth St. in Guelph. There was also a Norman Peacock, labourer , living at the same residence.

Jacob died of Cronic Bronchitis. He had it for 6 weeks. The attending doctor was Dr. Courtnay of Morriston.

Notes for LAWRENCE WILBERT BOWMAN:

Lawrence Wilbert and Wellington Albert were twins.

In 1913 Lawrence was a labourer at the Bell Piano Company in Guelph and he was residing at 191 Elizabeth Street in Guelph. In 1914 he was a candy maker in Guelph and was still residing at 191 Elizabeth Street.

In 1919 Lawrence was working at White Sew Machine Co. in Guelph and was living at 191 Elizabeth St.

in 1931 Lawrence (Lorne) was working at Gilson Manufacturing Co. in Guelph and was living at 191 Elizabeth.

Mr. and Mrs. Jacob Bowman lost an infant boy on Sunday evening.The funeral was held on Tuesday at 10 a.m.

He married (1) ROSINA MAY BACON⁸ Abt. 1917 in Aberfoyle, Ontario⁹, daughter of WILLIAM BACON and UNKNOWN BACON. She was born September 06, 1893 in London, England¹⁰, and died January 05, 1957 in Guelph, Ontario, Canada. He married (2) PEARL SKILLINGS¹¹ June 27, 1958, daughter of SAMUEL SKILLINGS and HANNAH HAGEY. She was born November 20, 1900.

I remember another Bowman family ( cousins of ours) in Guelph...Wellington Bowman(a.k.a.Wally) I only remember 3 children, but there could have been more...Rose, Clarence and Henry... both men are dead...I don't know about the girl. Clarence was married to Joann2 ? who is remarried to ?Lives in Guelph.

In 1914 Wellington was a candy maker at Yeates & Thomas and was residing at 191 Elizabeth St. in Guelph. In 1931 he was a trucker for the CPR Freight and was living at 48 Perth St. in Guelph. By 1934 he was a paperhanger by profession and was living at 191 Elizabeth St. in Guelph. As of 1942 Wellington was a checker at the CPR and he and his wife Rosina M Bowman lived at 186 Stevenson St. in Guelph. In 1943 Wellington and his wife Rosina were living at 93 Perth St. in Guelph. By 1957 Wellington was a shedman for the CPR and was living at 15 Garibaldi St. in Guelph. There is no wife listed.

Wellington Albert Bowman died at the South Waterloo Memorial Hospital in Galt )Cambridge)  Ontario, and is buried in the Appostles Garden Plot # 286-C1in Memory Garden's with his wife Rosina.
