JOSEPH9 BOWMAN was born January 04, 1842 in Puslinch, Ontario, Canada1, and died August 10, 1915 in Galt, Ontario, Canada. (headstone) He married CATHERINE FETTER November 08, 1870 in Puslinch, Ontario, Canada, daughter of JOHANNES FOERTER and MARIA TISCHER. She was born June 18, 1845 in Ostheim, (Nidderau), Germany2, and died December 28, 1928 in Waterloo Twp., Ontario.

Notes for JOSEPH BOWMAN:

Witnesses to the baptism were John Schickler and Ursula Schickler.

Joseph grew up on Lot 28 Con. 7 living there for a while after his marriage to Catherine Fetter on Jan. 8 1870. He was brought up Catholic in religion but after his marriage to Catherine Fetter, he and family attended the Lutheran Church. In the 1880's they moved to West Flamborough and by the1890's they lived near Valens in Beverly Township on the 9th Concession near the Gore Rd on Valens Sideroad. In later years they lived on Lowell St. in Galt where Joseph died (1915). He kept a horse in a small barn on Lowell street.

The late Ollie Garside remembered her grandparents Joseph and Catherine Bowman living on the 9th Concession in Beverley Township. Grandpa would drive the sleigh to Galt and when it was cold, Grandma would wonder if they might go faster, and Grandpa would say, "The horse has to haul the sleigh too"!
