[NI171766] 4 bros - Caspar, Jacob, Henry & Frederick Keller - came from Eastern PA & were among early settlers of this Co. They located on the Allegheny mtn, Allegheny & Stony Creek Twps. Caspar was capt of a co in war of 1812. All lived in the Co, & all reared families except Frederick, who never m. Caspar carried on distilling, where Topper's distillery now is. The 1st distillery was blt by Caspar Keller, prior to 1800. It is now the only one operated in Twp. At one time there were 25 in Twp, &, as may be inferred, whisky drinking was very general.
