Juergen Wenig, writes in his report, "The origin of our Sigl's is in Bavaria especially the Bavarian forest." Michael "emigrated to the US in 1880. First settled near Papillion (Sarpy county) Nebraska, moved to Madison (Madison county) Nebraska; finally settled on a farm near Okarche, Oklahoma.
(I'm not sure how accurate this information is, as I believe Mathilda Sigl was born in Madison, Dane co, WI. If this is the same Michael Sigl as Mathilda's father, perhaps he was in Wisconsin before migrating to Nebraska. - Judith M.)
