On page 153 in William Warren Rogers book, "Pebble Hill, the Story of a Plantion", there is a list of "Persons Buried in Pebble Hill Cemetery". There is a Nathaniel Raines Mitchell listed with the same birth date as Nathaniel, the son of J.W.H. Mitchell, Sr; however, the death date is 5 March 1865. The text on page 69 of this book is as follows;
"Young Nathaniel Raines Mitchell, named for his grandfather, was not yet three years old when he contracted an illness and died on April 22, 1857. He was buried at Pebble Hill cemetery."
According to the text on page 77; " (J.W.H.) Mitchell caught pneumonia, grew steadily worse, and died on March 5 1865. Death came for him at the untimely age of thirty-seven. He was buried in Pebble Hill cemetery."
Apparently the death date shown for young Nathaniel is the death date of his father.
