In his book, "The Story of Lone Jack", Romulus Travis writes,"---a group of kinfolks and friends from in and around Surry County, North Carolina settled here in 1836. That group included Warhan Easley, his brothers and sisters, and their aged mother." --- "Warhan Easley, who was the first postmaster in 1838 and later plotted out the village of Lone Jack, ---";
pg 4; "Warham Easley, Galen Cave and John Snow, all three of whom were brothers-in-law and had come indirectly from North Carolina --. This was in 1836 or '37. Cave entered the land on which the "lone tree" stood, but someway it came into the possession of Easly." ;
"He possessed considerable wealth in slaves and land in time."

Sarah (w/o Warhan Easley) 1 was born 2 on 7 Dec 1803. She died 3 on 23 Dec 1887 in Warrensburg, Johnson co, MO and was buried 4 in Lone Jack Cem; Lone Jack, Jackson co, MO. Sarah married Warham Easley.

Sarah's brief obituary simply says, "The remains of Mrs Easley, formerly of Lone Jack, here Saturday from Warrensburg accompanied by Mr Wm Ragsdale, who will have them interred in the cemetery at Lone Jack,( MO)."

Parthenia Easley [Parents] 1 was born 2 on 11 Jan 1842 in Johnson co, MO and was christened 3 early in life in Lone Jack Baptist Church; Lone Jack, Jackson co, MO. She died 4 on 13 Apr 1920 in [Lone Jack, Jackson co, MO] and was buried 5 on 15 Apr 1920 in Lone Jack Cem; Lone Jack, Jackson co, MO. Parthenia married Thomas Ragsdale.

Parthenia's obituary, in Russell Helmigs book, "Lone Jack Cemetery" says she "was born in Johnson County, Missouri and reared near Lone Jack, (MO).--married to Thomas Ragsdale in Dec 1865--" Thomas died nine years prior to Parthenia; they had nine children, "5 sons and 4 daughters, all living and present at the funeral.--- Besides the nine children she is survived by thirty grandchildren and one great grand child." "She joined the Lone Jack Baptist Church early in life but later moved her membership to Chapel Hill. --- Her funeral took place at Lone Jack Baptist Church, April 15, 1920; (officiated) by Rev. Thomas L. Powell of Odessa; after which, she was laid to rest in the family buring place in Lone Jack, MO." Her obituary also says she became blind three years before her death and that she was entirely bedfast the last thirteen months of her life. She "bore her affliction with patience and uncomplainingly.";

John Snow [Parents] [image] 1, 2, 3 was born 4, 5, 6 on 12 Mar 1790 in Dobson, Surry co, NC. He died 7, 8 on 23 Jun 1851 in Lone Jack, Jackson co, MO and was buried 9, 10 in Lone Jack Cem; Lone Jack, Jackson co, MO. John married 11 Frances Easley on 10 Dec 1812 in Surry co, NC.

"Warham Easley, Galen Cave and John Snow, all three of whom were brothers-in-law and had come indirectly from North Carolina --. This was in 1836 or '37".

John Snow gave an acre of ground for a cemetery (Lone Jack Cemetery) in which his niece, Betty, the 4 year old daughter of his brother, James Snow, was the first to be buried.

Galen Cave and John Snow died within hours of each other in 1851, from cholera.

Tom Strahan has the following note in his file for John Snow;
"Moved with his family (including married daughter Matilda Golding) along with several other families (including that of his brother, James Snow and those of Easley, Smith, Cave, Franklin, Shore, Hutchens, Williams and Phillips) to western Missouri (Jackson, Cass and Lafayette Counties) in 1837-38."
"Died of Cholera the same day as his first cousin, Galen Cave."

Although Tom shows Elizsabeth to be buried at Lone Jack Cemetery her grave is not listed in Russell Helmig's book; "Lone Jack Cemetery".
