"Services for Martha B. "Marty" Miller, 72, Leoti, will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 12, 2000, at St. Anthony Catholic Church, Leoti, with the Revs. Meinrad Miller and Chuck Mazouch officiating. Burial will be in Leoti Cemetery.
Mrs. Miller died Monday, Oct. 9, 2000, at the Wichita County Long Term Unit in Leoti. She was born March 16, 1928, in Nashville, Kan., the daughter of Nicholas and Gertrude Hommertzheim Schoenecker. She had been a Leoti resident since 1958 and was co-owner of the Miller Caf� from 1976 until she retired in 1983. She also operated a day care center from 1884 until 1993.
She was a member of St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church in Leoti and a member of St. Anthony Alter Society.
She married Martin Miller on April 26, 1958, in Wichita. He survives.
Other survivors include two sons, Stephen Miller, Tonganoxie, and the Rev. Meinrad Miller, Atchison; a daughter, Kathleen Reed, Albany, N.Y.; three brothers, Bart Schoenecker, Akron, Colo., Pete Schoenecker, Valley Center, and Joe Schoenecker, Benedict; six sisters, Anna Schoenecker, Josephine Blanchet and Sister Mary Schoenecker, all of Wichita, Christine Carter, Hutchinson, Betty Smith, Kingman, and Bertha Zogelman, Florence; and four grandchildren.
Vigil services will be at 7 p.m. today at St. Anthony Catholic Church, Leoti. Friends may call from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. today at Price and Sons Funeral Home, Leoti.
The family suggests memorial contributions to the church or to the Wichita County Long Term Care Unit, sent in care of the funeral home."
