     Clarence E Butler was born on 9 May 1878 in Ponca, Dixon, Nebraska. He was the son of Wallace I Butler and Ida Wilbur.
     Clarence E Butler appeared on the 1880 Federal Census of Staton Precinct, Staton, Nebraska in the household of his parents, Wallace I Butler and Ida Butler.1
     On 3 January 1906, Clarence E Butler married Alice Donahue in Chicago, Cook County, Illinois.
