     Johannes "John" Conrad was born on 4 November 1781 in Hamilton, Northampton, Pennsylvania.2,3,4,5 He was the son of Johan Peter Conrad and Veroncia "Sophronia" Heller. Johannes was baptized on 23 December 1781 in the Hamilton Church, in Hamilton, Northampton County, Pennsylvania. He was sponsored by John Michael Heller and Sanannna / Susanna Heller.4
     Johannes "John" Conrad married Catherine Foote, daughter of John Foote and Catherine Miller, at Evangelical United Congregation Church in Lansing, Cayuga County, New York.3,6
     John Conrad was listed as the head of a family on the 1820 census enumerated in Lansing, Tompkins, New York. Based on ages, it is possible the following were also living in the household:.7 John Conrad, a native of Pennsylvania, came from Tompkins County, New York to Dutch Hill in Hinsdale about 1822 with his wife, 7 sons and 4 daughters. He purchased 320 acres, which he then sold, and settled on Haskel flats, where he died.8 He, Daniel Conrad, William Hawley, Joseph Conrad, Jacob Linderman and Elisha Terry were considered pioneers in Ischua, Cattaraugus, New York; the area was still known as Hillsdale.9
In 1827, John Conrad and Johan Peter Frantz and Jacob Linderman were found on the list of Jurors with Daniel Conrad and William Hawley in Hinsdale, Cattaraugus, New York.10
     Johannes "John" Conrad, 48 years old, was listed as the head of a family on the 1830 U.S. Federal Census enumerated in Olean, Cattaraugus, New York. Based on ages, it is possible the following were also living in the household, Oristis A. Conrad, a white male, age newborn to 4 years old, Henry Austin Conrad, a white male, age five to nine years old, Benjamin Conrad and Peter Conrad, white males, age ten to fourteen years old, John Foote Conrad and Melkiah Conrad, white males, age fifteen to nineteen years old, Catharine Conrad, a white female, age ten to fourteen years old, Catherine Foote, a white female, age forty to forty-nine years old.11

     Johannes "John" Conrad, 58 years old, was listed as the head of a family on the 1840 U.S. Federal Census enumerated in Portville, Cattaraugus, New York. Based on ages, it is possible the following were also living in the household, Oristis A. Conrad, Henry Austin Conrad and Melkiah Conrad, a white male, age ten to fourteen years old, Mary Conrad, a white female, age twenty to twenty-nine years old Living near Johannes was John Foote Conrad.13
     Johannes "John" Conrad and Mary Conrad appeared on the 1850 Federal Census of Portville, Cattaraugus, New York, enumerated 15 October 1850, also enumerated in the household is A. C. Winters age 9 born in Michigan. Is this Mary's son from a previous marriage?12
     Johannes "John" Conrad died on 16 January 1855 in Portville, Cattaraugus, New York, at the age of 73.14,2,3
     Johannes was buried after 16 January 1855 in the Mount View Cemetery, located in Olean, Cattaraugus County, New York .14,5

     Mary Fleura "Mamie" Conrad was born on 1 September 1860 in Olean, Cattaraugus, New York.2,3,4,5,6,7 She was the daughter of Ferdinand Conrad and Jane Whitlock.
     Mary Fleura "Mamie" Conrad appeared on the 1865 State Census of Riceland, Freeborn, Minnesota in the household of her parents, Ferdinand Conrad and Jane Conrad.8
     Mary Fleura "Mamie" Conrad appeared on the 1870 Federal Census of in Ponca, Dixon County, Nebraska, in the household of her parents, Ferdinand Conrad and Jane Conrad.9
     Mary married Fred Elmer Wilbur, son of Jefferson Wilbur and Elizabeth Ann Trim, on 4 July 1878 in Ponca, Dixon, Nebraska.10,2,4,5,11,6
     Mary Fleura "Mamie" Wilbur and Fred Elmer Wilbur appeared on the 1880 Federal Census of Daily Branch, Dixon, Nebraska, enumerated 11 June 1880 reporting that Fred was a Farmer.12
     Mary Fleura "Mamie" Wilbur and Fred Elmer Wilbur appeared on the 1885 State Census of Daily Branch, Dixon, Nebraska, enumerated 11 June 1885. Their children Claudia Ann and Lulu were listed as living with them.13
     Mary Fleura "Mamie" Wilbur and Fred Elmer Wilbur appeared on the 1900 Federal Census of Highland, Garfield, Nebraska, enumerated 10 July 1900, reporting that they owned their farm. Fred's occupation was reported as a Stock Grocer. Their children Elizabeth Verna, Claudia Ann, Florence Rose, Winnefred M and Clara were listed as living with them, living next door was Mamie's sister Jennie and her husband Will Cornell. Also Fred's sister, Maude and her husband Henry Brewer were living next to Will Cornell's family.14 Mary Fleura "Mamie" Wilbur was mentioned residing in Ponca, Nebraska in the obituary of Ferdinand Conrad, her father, on 23 March 1905 which printed in the Northern Nebraska Journal, circulated in Ponca, Dixon County, Nebraska; as his surviving children.15
     Mary Fleura "Mamie" Conrad and Fred Elmer Wilbur appeared on the 1910 Federal Census of Ponca, Dixon, Nebraska, enumerated 4 May 1910, reporting that they rented their farm. The census also reported that they had 9 children of which 7 were living. Their daughter Winnefred M was listed as living with them, also living with them were Fred's widowed father, Jefferson.5 Mary was the informant for the information on the death certificate of her mother, Jane Conrad who died on 10 November 1915.16,17,18,19
     In the 18 November 1915 obituary of Jane Conrad which printed in the Nebraska Journal Leader, circulated in Ponca, Dixon County, Nebraska, Mary Fleura "Mamie" Conrad was listes as survivor.20
     Mary Fleura "Mamie" Wilbur and Fred Elmer Wilbur appeared on the 1920 Federal Census of Ponca, Dixon, Nebraska, enumerated 20 April 1920, reporting that they owned a Farm free and clear the family was living a couple of farms away from Mary's sister, Minnie and her husband, Dudley Doan
. Their daughter Clara was listed as living with them, as were her husband, Jack Percy Greenwood Jennison and their son John C.21
     Fred Elmer Wilbur and Mary Fleura "Mamie" Wilbur appeared on the 1930 Federal Census of Galen, Dixon, Nebraska, enumerated 9 April 1930, reporting that they owned their farm and had a radio.22
     On 2 May 1936, Mary Fleura "Mamie" Wilbur was living in Allen, Dixon, Nebraska, when she died of influenza, at the age of 75. The information on the death certificate being supplied by Fred Elmer Wilbur.2,7
     Mary was buried on Monday, 4 May 1936 in the Ponca Cemetery, located in Ponca, Dixon County, Nebraska . She was buried in the NE Section Lot 55 next to her husband, Fred Wilbur.2,19,6,7
     Mary Fleura "Mamie" Conrad's obituary was Nebraska Journal Leader, Ponca, Dixon, Nebraska, on 7 May 1936. Leaving her husband Fred as a widower She was survived by Lulu "Maude" Brewer, Claudia Ann Christian, Elizabeth Verna "Bessie" Wilbur, Florence Rose Johnson, Clara Jennison and Winnefred M Heydon.6
Mary's obituary states:

Mrs. Fred Wilbur Buried Monday


Funeral services for Mrs. Fred Wilbur, for many years a resident of this county, were held Monday in the Methodist church with Rev. Bray and Rev. Kuhler in charge. Burial was in the Ponca cemertery under the direction of Mohr's.
Mrs Wilbur was bon Mamie Conrad in New York State on September 1, 1860. At an early age she came west into Minnesota with her parents and from there on into Neb. On July 4, 1878, she became the bride of Fred Wilbur and they became the parents of seven children, one of whom, Cleo, died as a child. Death beckoned her when she was in her 75th year Left to mourn her passing are her widower, six daughters, Mrs. Jack Jennison and Mrs. Jack Brewer, of Ponca; Mrs Henry Reinwald of Salem, Oregon; Mrs Ed Heydon, of Newcastle; Mrs. Louie Johnson of Holler, Minn; and Mrs David Christianson of Laird, Saskatchewan, Canada. Thirty grand children, 10 great grandchildren, and two brothers, Will and Bert Conrad also survive.
Through her long residence in the county Mrs Wilbur had made many friends. She was respected by all who knew her.

     Amos Conrad appeared on the 1860 Federal Census of Gun Plains, Allegan, Michigan in the household of his parents, Melkiah Conrad and Uzetta Conrad.1
