Daniel, Johannes Conrad's second son, settled on 100 acres of the original 320 acres located in Hinsdale, Cattaraugus, New York.^5,6 Daniel Conrad, William Hawley, Johannes "John" Conrad, Joseph Conrad, Jacob Linderman and Elisha Terry were considered pioneers in Ischua, Cattaraugus, New York; the area was still known as Hillsdale.⁷
