     Elbert Henry Conrad was born in December 1861 in Hinsdale, Cattaraugus, New York, place of birth based on 1860 Census.1 He was the son of Henry Austin Conrad and Julia Parthena Hull.1

     Elizabeth Conrad was born in 1765 in Hamilton, Northampton, Pennsylvania.1,2 She was the daughter of Johan Peter Conrad and Veroncia "Sophronia" Heller.
     In 1781, Elizabeth Conrad married Jacob Merwein in.1

     Erastus Conrad was born in 1848, New York.1 He was the son of John Foote Conrad and Rhoda Howe.1

     Ferdinand Conrad was born on 17 October 1835 in Rice, Cattaraugus, New York.3,4,5,1 He was the son of Daniel Conrad and Mary Ann Hawley.2
     Ferdinand Conrad was probably included as a white male, age under 4, in Daniel Conrad's household on the 1840 Census enumerated in Hinsdale, Cattaraugus, New York.6
     Ferdinand Conrad appeared on the 1850 Federal Census of Rice, Cattaraugus, New York in the household of his parents, Daniel Conrad and Mary Ann Conrad.1
     Ferdinand Conrad appeared on the 1855 State Census of Ischua, Cattaraugus, New York in the household of his parents, Daniel Conrad and Mary Ann Conrad.7,2
     On 2 August 1859, Ferdinand Conrad married Jane Whitlock, daughter of Thomas Whitlock and Jane Norton, in Olean, Cattaraugus County, New York.8,5,3
     Ferdinand Conrad and Jane Conrad appeared on the 1860 Federal Census of Olean, Cattaraugus, New York, enumerated 2 July 1860, reporting Ferdinand as a farmer. Their son John Collins was listed as living with them.9
     Ferdinand Conrad and Jane Conrad appeared on the 1865 State Census of Riceland, Freeborn, Minnesota, enumerated 1865. Their children Jennie, Charles Morris and Mary Fleura were listed as living with them.10
     Ferdinand Conrad and Jane Conrad appeared on the 1870 Federal Census of in Ponca, Dixon County, Nebraska, enumerated 16 July 1870. Their children Mary Fleura, Charles Morris, Jennie and William Penn were listed as living with them, living near is Ferdinand's brother Benjamin Conrad.11
     Ferdinand Conrad and Jane Whitlock appeared on the 1880 Federal Census of Ponca, Dixon, Nebraska, enumerated 3 June 1880 reporting Ferdinand as a farmer. Their children Charles Morris, Jennie, William Penn, Minnie Belle, Albert B and Estella were listed as living with them.12 Ferdinand Conrad attended, according to Ferdinand's obituary, the Methodist Church in Ponca, Dixon County, Nebraska.5
     Ferdinand Conrad and Jane Conrad appeared on the 1900 Federal Census of Ponca, Dixon, Nebraska, at 137 12th Street, enumerated 15 June 1900, reporting them living next door to their son Albert's family..13
     Ferdinand Conrad died on 17 March 1905 in Ponca, Dixon, Nebraska, at the age of 69.14,3,4,5
     Ferdinand was buried on Sunday, 19 March 1905 in the Ponca Cemetery, located in Ponca, Dixon County, Nebraska . Next to his wife.4,5,14
     Ferdinand's obituary was printed in the Northern Nebraska Journal, circulated in Ponca, Dixon County, Nebraska, on 23 March 1905. Reporting Jane Conrad as his wife. Mary Fleura "Mamie" Wilbur, Charles Morris Conrad, Jennie Cornell, Minnie Belle Doan, Albert B "Bert" Conrad, Estella Richards and William Penn Conrad were mentioned in his obituary as his surviving children.5
Ferdinand's obituary states:
Fernand Conrad died at his home in Ponca, Friday mourning, March 17, aged 69 years and 5 months.
He was born Oct. 17, 1835, at New York, where he lived until the time of his marriage to Jane Whitlock. He moved with his family to Minn. in 1863, and from there to Ponca in 1869, where he resided until the time of his death.
He came to Nebraska for his health, but it seems that his health did not improve, for he has been a sufferer for several years from the effects of asthma.
Twenty years ago he joined the Methodist church and has ever been a faithful member. He was a kind and loving husband and father and a good neighbor and friend.
The funeral services were held at the M. E. church Sunday forenoon, March 19, conducted by Rev. Lawson.
He left a wife and seven children to mourn his loss, Mrs. Fred Wilbur, Mrs. Dudley Doan, Mrs. Will Richard, Will and Bert Conrad all of Ponca and Mrs. Will Cornell of Canada and Charley Conrad of Jefferson, S.D.5
