     Hester was listed as the wife of Herbert Charles Beard on 31 March 1901 Census in Llanwonno, Glam, Wales, included in the household is Eleanor Jane Beard, William John Beard, Florence May Beard and Herbert Charles Beard Jr. also living in the household as boarders were:
Benjamin Frank Hemnes single male age 31, occupation of above ground coal laborer born in Winscombe, Somerset, England;
John Lewis Colley married male age 37 occupation of a gas stoker born in Liverpool, Lancaster, England;
Evan Thomas single male age 22, occupation of railway lampman born in Glamorgan, Wales..9
     Hester Beard and Herbert Charles Beard immigrated to Malad City, Oneida, Idaho, with her family Herbert Charles Beard Jr., Eleanor Jane Beard, William John Beard, Florence May Beard and Ralph Beard, aboard the ship Ivernia arriving on 5 August 1902, The family arrived in Boston Massachusetts from Liverpool England..10,11
     Hester Beard and Herbert Charles Beard were naturalized on 29 June 1908 in Malad City, Oneida, Idaho, along with her family Herbert Charles Beard Jr., Eleanor Jane Beard, William John Beard, Florence May Beard and Ralph Beard.10
     Hester Beard and Herbert Charles Beard appeared on the 1910 Federal Census of Malad City, Oneida, Idaho, enumerated 5 May 1910, reporting Herbert as a Gardener Their children Herbert Charles, Eleanor Jane, William John, Florence May and Ralph were listed as living with them.12
     Hester Beard and Herbert Charles Beard appeared on the 1920 Federal Census of Malad City, Oneida, Idaho, enumerated 2 January 1920, reporting Herbert as a Produce House Salesman. Their children Herbert Charles, William John, Ralph and Victor Leroy were listed as living with them.13
     Hester Beard died on 7 March 1922 in 155 N. 15th Street, Salem, Marion, Oregon, at the age of 51.14,15
     Hester Beard's obituary was printed in the Oregon Statesman, circulated in Salem, Marion County, Oregon, on 9 March 1922. Leaving her husband Herbert as a widower William John Beard, Herbert Charles Beard Jr., Ralph Beard, Victor Leroy Beard, Eleanor Jane Illum and Florence May Thorpe being mentioned in Hester's obituary.16
Hester's obituary states:

BEARD--
At her home 555 North Fifteenth street, March 7, Mrs. Hester Beard at the age of 51 years. Besides her husband, she is survived by four sons, William, Bert, Ralph and Victor Beard, all of Salem. Also by two daughters, Mrs. Nellie Illum and Mrs. Daniel Thorpe, both of Idaho. The body is in care of Webb & Clough. Funeral arrangements have not as yet been announced. OS 8 Mar 1922, 5:6. The funeral of Mrs. Hester Beard will be held at Webb & Clough’s funeral parlors at 1 p.m. Friday. Interment will be in the I.O.O.F. cemetery.16


     Hester was buried on Friday, 10 March 1922 in the Salem Pioneer Cemetery, located in Salem, Marion County, Oregon . Next to her husband Herbert in lot 656 space 3 NW N½.17
