George's obituary states:
George Bradley Morey, 84, passed away on March 25, 2002. The youngest of four children, he was born in 1918 and raised in Baraboo, son of Fred and Jessie (Prentice) Morey. Fred Morey was founder and bandleader of the Legion Band for many years during the 1930s and 1940s. He was instrumental in establishing and supporting the Zoo at Oschner Park as well as the Municipal Outdoor Pool. The athletic field at the Baraboo High School was donated by Fred Morey, also. George, better known as Brad, married Eleanor Capener of Breezy Hill Farm and when the marriage ended in 1939 he left Baraboo for Chicago and played drums with various jazz bands all his adult life, into his 70s. He was associated with big band leader Stan Kenton, writing many of the arrangements recorded by that band, and arranged musical charts for many other bands as well, over the years. Brad married twice more, both of which ended in divorce. He is survived by four adult children: Janice Larvin, George Morey, Keith Morey and Collette Morey, as well as five grandchildren. Brad died of natural causes, was cremated and no services were held, at his request.1
