     Peter J Neilans was born on 24 November 1895 in Grand Island, Erie, New York.1,3 He was the son of John Simpson Neilans and Lillias Dickson / Dixon.1,2

     Peter J Neilans appeared on the 1910 Federal Census of Grand Island, Erie, New York in the household of his parents, John Simpson Neilans and Lillias Neilans.6

     Peter J Neilans and Ruth Irene Neilans appeared on the 1920 Federal Census of Hanover, Chautauqua, New York, at 40 Hanover Street, enumerated 1 June 1925, reporting Peter as a Contractor who worked for himself. Also staying with them is Ruth's sister, Rosamond E Gilmore age 18.9 Peter J Neilans was mentioned in the obituary of Lillian I Neilans, his sister, on 4 September 1955 which printed in the Couier Express, circulated in Buffalo, Erie County, New York.10
     In the 13 October 1956 obituary of Thomas Graham Neilans (his brother) which printed in the Buffalo Evening News, circulated in Buffalo, Erie County, New York, Peter J Neilans was listes as survivor.11
     Peter J Neilans died in June 1963 at the age of 67.12

     Thomas Neilans was born in 1846 in Foulden, Berwickshire Scotland.1 He was the son of John Neilans and Helen Simpson.1
     Thomas Neilans appeared on the 1871 Scotish Census of Lauder, Berwickshire, Scotland in the household of his parents, John Neilans and Helen Neilans.1
     Thomas Neilans appeared on the 1881 Scotish Census of Lauder, Berwickshire, Scotland in the household of his parents, John Neilans and Helen Neilans, reporting George, Peter and Thomas ans an unmarried son.2

Thomas was assigned to 51st Pioneer Infantry Company K.7 Based on the Marriage certificate on 17 June 1919, Thomas Graham Neilans was living at 359 N. Ferry St in Buffalo, Erie, New York.10
     On 17 June 1919, Thomas Graham Neilans married Bessie Bernice Walsh, daughter of George William Walsh and Margaret Stewart, in New York City (Manhattan), New York County, New York, witnessing the marriage was Don L. Monteith and H. Watterman.. Thomas Graham's occupation was reported as a Contractor.10,2,3,16,4
     Thomas Graham Neilans and Bessie Bernice Neilans appeared on the 1920 Federal Census, enumerated 22 January 1920, of Buffalo, Erie, New York, living at 290 Esser Avenue. The census reported Thomas as a general contractor.12 Based on the Birth certificate of their daughter, Betty Bernice Neilans on 15 May 1920, Thomas Graham Neilans and Bessie Bernice Neilans were living at 290 Esser Avenue in Buffalo, Erie, New York.3
     Thomas Graham Neilans and Bessie Bernice Neilans appeared on the 1930 Federal Census of Dunkirk, Chautauqua, New York, at 606 Swan Street, enumerated 10 April 1930, reporting Thomas as an out of work excavation contractor. Their children Betty Bernice and Thomas Graham were listed as living with them.17
     Thomas Graham Neilans supplied the information on the death certificate of his son, Thomas Graham "Tom" Neilans Jr. who died on 15 March 1937 of Pulmonary Tuberculosis 9 days short of his 15th birthday; from Pulmonary Tuberculosis (9 days short of his 15th birthday.)18,19,20 Thomas Graham Neilans was reported as the father on the Social Security Application of Betty Bernice Neilans.2
     Thomas Graham Neilans and Bessie Bernice Neilans appeared on the 1940 Federal Census of Spokane, Spokane, Washington, at 2828 Sinto Avenue, enumerated 3 April 1940. Their children Betty Bernice and Lionel Charles were listed as living with them.21
     Based on the World War II Draft Registration on 26 April 1942, Thomas Graham Neilans was described as 5'8" with Gray eyes, Brown hair, weighing 180 lbs and was employed by United Engineers. Thomas and Bessie Bernice Neilans were living at W1024 Mansfield Avenue in Spokane, Spokane, Washington.1 Thomas Graham Neilans began military service circa 1945 Co. K. 51st Inf. WWII.8,17 He was mentioned in the obituary of Lillian I Neilans, his sister, on 4 September 1955 which printed in the Couier Express, circulated in Buffalo, Erie County, New York.22 Based on the Death certificate on 12 October 1956, Thomas Graham Neilans was living at 3586 Main Street in Buffalo, Erie, New York.16
     Thomas Graham Neilans died on 12 October 1956 in Grand Island, Erie, New York, at the age of 68.4,8
Thomas's obituary states:

NEILANS - Thomas G. Neilans, of 3586 Main St., Oct 12, 1956, beloved husband of Bett Walsh Neilans, father of Bett D.[B], Lionel C., and the late Thomas G. Neilans, Jr; brother of John, George, Charles, Peter and the late Helen Killinger, Margaret Barry, Lily Peer, and Mary Deglopper; uncle of Mrs. Isabella Landel. Friends may call at the [?]ury Funeral Home, 3070 Delaware Ave, where funeral services will be held Tuesday afternoon at 1:30 o'clock. Friends are invited. Mr. Neilans was a member of Ismalla Temple, A.A.O.N.M.S.16


     Thomas Graham Neilans's obituary was printed in the Buffalo Evening News, circulated in Buffalo, Erie County, New York, on 13 October 1956. Leaving his wife, Bessie as his widow He was survived by Betty Bernice Neilans, Lionel Charles Neilans, John Neilans, George Dickson Neilans, Charles W. Neilans, Peter J Neilans, Margaret Barnes, Lillian I Peer, Mary Deglopper and Isabelle Killinger.16
     Thomas was buried on Tuesday, 16 October 1956 in the Maple Grove Cemetery, located in Grand Island, Erie County, New York .8

     Amanda Newell was born in 1840 Cayuga County, New York.2 She was the daughter of Sidney Newell and Emily (Unknown).2
     Circa 1855, Amanda Newell married Theodore Whitlock, son of Benajah Whitlock and Catherine Ann "Katie A." Apgar, in.1
     Amanda Whitlock appeared on the 1865 State Census of Humphrey, Cattaraugus, New York in the household of her parents, Sidney Newell and Emily Newell, as well as her children, Emily Whitlock, Caty Ann Whitlock and Almond Eugene Whitlock.2
On 16 December 1866 in New York, Amanda Whitlock applied for the pension of Theodore Whitlock, her deceased husband. , application # 139419, certificate # 98986.3
     Amanda Whitlock died on 30 August 1868 in Humphrey, Cattaraugus, New York.4
