     William Henry Prentice was born on 17 September 1850 in Mystic, New London, Connecticut.2 He was the son of John Prentice and Phebe Esther Denison.2 William, Charles and Mary appeared on the 1 July 1860 census of Groton, New London, Connecticut, in the household of his parents John Prentice and Lucy Prentice, his stepmother; living with Henry & Abby J. Ashby. (What if any is the relationship? Is Lucy's first daughter Nellie Ashby born 1861 named after the family?)3
     William Henry Prentice appeared on the 1870 Federal Census of in Groton, New London, Connecticut, in the household of his parents, John Prentice and Lucy Prentice, his step mother.4
     William Henry Prentice appeared on the 1880 Federal Census of Groton, New London, Connecticut in the household of his parents, John Prentice and Lucy Prentice.5
     On 22 November 1882, William Henry Prentice married Mary Elizabeth "Libby" Rich, daughter of Elijah Rich and Mary Elizabeth Freer, in North Freedom, Sauk County, Wisconsin.6,7
     Between 1895 and 1896,William lived in 513 2nd Avenue, Baraboo, Sauk, Wisconsin William also ran a meat market. He is listed as a sausage manufacturing dealer in oysters (salt & fresh) and dried meats..8
     William was listed as the head of the family, on the 1895 Census in Ward 1, Baraboo, Sauk, Wisconsin. Jessie Juanita Prentice, Carl Mortemar Prentice, May Prentice, Katherine "Katie" Prentice and Mary Elizabeth Prentice were listed as household members.9
     William Henry Prentice and Mary Elizabeth Prentice appeared on the 1900 Federal Census of Baraboo, Sauk, Wisconsin, at 513 2nd Avenue, enumerated 9 June 1900, reporting William as owning a Butcher shop and renting their home. Their children Jessie Juanita, Carl Mortemar, May and Katherine were listed as living with them, also living with the family as boarders are Archie Stees and Ferdinand Schoenwetter.10
     William Henry Prentice and Mary Elizabeth Prentice appeared on the 1905 State Census of Baraboo, Sauk, Wisconsin, at Ward 2, enumerated 1 June 1905, reporting William owning a Butcher Shop and the family home. Their children Jessie Juanita, May and Katherine were listed as living with them.11
     William Henry Prentice and Mary Elizabeth Prentice appeared on the 1910 Federal Census of Portland, Multnomah, Oregon, at 462 Spokane, enumerated 15 April 1910, reporting William's occupation as an independent Meat Dealer renting the family home. Their daughter Katherine was listed as living with them The area the family is living is known as Sellwood.12
     On 15 August 1916, William Henry Prentice was living at 462 Spokane, in Portland, Multnomah, Oregon, when he died at the age of 65. The information on the death certificate being supplied by Mary Elizabeth Prentice, his wife. William was reported to be in the Meat Business.2,13
     William was buried on Saturday, 19 August 1916 in the Milwaukie Pioneer Cemetery, located in Lake Oswego, Clackamas County, Oregon . The funeral services were conducted by the Masonic Sunnyside Lodge No 163. William Henry Prentice was a member of the Baraboo Lodge No 34

     Hannah Price married Brownell Wilbor Jr., son of Brownell Wilbor and Eunice (Unknown), in.1 Hannah Price was born circa 1796 Dutchess County, New York.1
     Hannah Price died on 1 April 1880.1
