     Ernest Regler appeared on the 1880 Federal Census of Newark, Essex, New Jersey in the household of his parents, Matthias Regler and Kunigunde Regler.1 Ernest was Bookkeeper in 1891 in 149 Newton Street, Newark, Essex, New Jersey.4
     In 1891,Ernest and Kunigunde lived in 149 Newton Street, Newark, Essex, New Jersey she is listed as the widow of Matthew Regler.4

     Matthew Regler was born in 1817 Germany 1860 census list his birthplace as Bavaria.2,3
     Matthew Regler immigrated to New York City, New York County, New York, along with Kunigunde Reinwald, aboard the Sir Robert Peel arriving on 27 October 1852, from London. Matthew is listed as a Farmer age 30..4
     On 26 June 1853, Matthew Regler married Kunigunde Reinwald in Newark, Essex County, New Jersey.1
     Matthew Regler filed the Petition of Naturalization former alliance from Bavaria on 3 December 1858. Were residing at Newark, Essex, New Jersey.5
     Matthias Regler and Kunigunde Regler appeared on the 1860 Federal Census of Newark, Essex, New Jersey, enumerated 5 June 1860. Their children Rosa, Margaret and Barbara were listed as living with them, reporting several families living at this address. They do not appear to be related. This could be a apartment house.6 According to the census, Matthew's occupation was a currier.3
     Matthias Regler and Kunigunde Regler appeared on the 1870 Federal Census of Newark, Essex, New Jersey, enumerated 19 July 1870, reporting the name as LAGLER. Kunigunde name is spelled Cunnigunde.. Their children Rose, Ernest, Maggie and Barbara were listed as living with them.7
     Matthias Regler and Kunigunde Regler appeared on the 1880 Federal Census of Newark, Essex, New Jersey, at 149 Newton Street, enumerated 4 June 1880 Their children Rosa and Ernest were listed as living with them.2
     Matthew Regler died before 1891 in 149 Newton Street, Newark, Essex, New Jersey.8
