     George M. Beach was born in June 1860, New York.1,2
     In 1890, George M. Beach married Elizabeth Whitlock, daughter of George M. Whitlock and Harriett Newall Morse, in New York.1,2
     George M. Beach and Elizabeth Beach appeared on the 1920 Federal Census of Lansing, Tompkins, New York, enumerated 12 January 1920, reporting Elizabeth's father, George M. Whitlock living with them.1

     Catherine Malinda Bean was born on 8 March 1834, Tennessee Willis' Death Certificate states mothers name as Jane.1,2,3
     On 8 December 1853, Catherine Malinda Bean married John W Dugger, son of Henry Dugger and Sarah Green, in White County County, Tennessee, they were married by John Madewwell, Esq...4,1,5,6
     Catherine Malinda Dugger and John W Dugger appeared on the 1860 Federal Census of in 3 rd District, Cumberland, Tennessee, enumerated 15 June 1860, reporting John's occupation as a farmer. Their children George William, Marilda Frances, Emily Jane, Elizabeth Ann and David M were listed as living with them, living near the family is John's parents, Henry and Sarah Dugger.2
     Catherine Malinda Dugger and John W Dugger appeared on the 1870 Federal Census of in District Number 1, Macon, Tennessee, enumerated 1 June 1870, reporting John's occupation as a Blacksmith. Their children George William, Elizabeth Ann, Emily Jane, Marilda Frances, Terressa, John Hardin, Amanda C and Jaspar N were listed as living with them.7
     Catherine Malinda Dugger died on 22 January 1875 in Douglas County, Missouri, at the age of 40.1

     Melvin Gene "Mel" Beard was born on 11 May 1927 in Washougal, Clark, Washington.1,2 He was the son of Herbert Charles Beard Jr. and Elvera Dugger.1,2
     Mel Beard appeared on the 1930 Federal Census of Mt Hope, Logan, Colorado in the household of his parents, Herbert Charles Beard Jr. and Elvera Beard.3 On 10 April 1931, Mel was residing at 311 N. 7th Avenue, in Sterling, Logan County, Colorado with his parents Herbert and Elvera and Bob Beard Birth.4
     In the 6 March 1936 obituary of Herbert Charles Beard Jr. which printed in the Statesman Journal, circulated in Salem, Marion County, Oregon, Mel Beard, Bob Beard and William Victor "Bill" Beard were listed as a survivor.5
     Melvin Gene "Mel" Beard appeared on the 1940 Federal Census of Salem, Marion, Oregon in the household of his mother Elvera Beard.6 Between 1942 and 1949, Mel, William and Bob lived at at South 20th Street, in Salem, Marion, Oregon with his mother Elvera.7
     On 8 October 1950, Melvin Gene "Mel" Beard married Josephine Claire Fergueson in Salem, Marion County, Oregon.8 Melvin Gene "Mel" Beard and Josephine were divorced in Salem, Marion, Oregon.8
     Mel Beard supplied the information on the death certificate ofElvera Beard who died on 4 March 1996.9,10,11,12
     Melvin Gene "Mel" Beard died on 6 February 1998 in Salem, Marion, Oregon, at the age of 70.13,2,14
     Melvin Gene "Mel" Beard's obituary was printed in the Statesman, circulated in Keizer, Marion County, Oregon.

May 11, 1927 - Feb. 7, 1998
KEIZER--Melvin Beard, 70, died Saturday. Cause of death was unavailable. Born in Washougal, Wash., he served in the Marine Corps from 1945 to 1949. He worked for 35 years for the state Highway Department and for 30 years as a stripping crew foreman. He was a member of the Shamrock C.B.'ers and bowled on many leagues. He enjoyed computers and electronics. Survivors include his wife, Ora Lee (Frey), whom he married on Dec. 28, 1956; and brother, Robert of Keizer. Services will be 1 p.m. Wednesday at Howell- Edwards-Doerksen Chapel of the Gardens, Salem. Private interment will be at Salem Pioneer Cemetery.


He was buried next to his parents, Herbert Charles Beard Jr. and Elvera Dugger on 11 February 1998 in in the Salem Pioneer Cemetery, located in Salem, Marion County, Oregon .
