     Erastus Ashbury Bishop was born on 20 March 1853 Pottawattamie County, Iowa.2,4,5,6,7 He was the son of Hiram Smith Bishop and Nancy Catherine Lent.2,3
     Erastus Ashbury Bishop appeared on the 1860 Federal Census of Lebanon, Linn, Oregon in the household of his parents, Hiram Smith Bishop and Anna Bishop.8
      Erastus Ashbury Bishop appeared on the 1870 Federal Census of Franklin Butte, Linn, Oregon, in the household of his father Hiram Smith Bishop and step-mother, Anna Bishop.3
     Erastus married Margaret J Compton, daughter of James W. Compton and Melinda Sumpter, on 5 April 1875 in Linn County, Oregon.1,5,9,2
     Erastus Ashbury Bishop and Margaret J Bishop appeared on the 1880 Federal Census of Lebanon, Linn, Oregon, enumerated 5 June 1880 reporting Erastus as a farmer. Their children James Arthur and Henry were listed as living with them.10
     Erastus Ashbury Bishop and Margaret J Bishop appeared on the 1900 Federal Census of Wallowa, Wallowa, Oregon, enumerated 23 June 1900, reporting Erastus as a farmer renting property. Their children John Larkin, William, Rosa, Roy Elmer, Orange Ray, Floyd and Florence were listed as living with them.11
     Erastus Ashbury Bishop and Margaret J Bishop appeared on the 1910 Federal Census of Wallowa, Wallowa, Oregon, at Donald Street, enumerated 15 April 1910, reporting Erastus working as a Saw miller who owns his house free and clear Their children Orange Ray, Floyd and Florence were listed as living with them.12
     Erastus Ashbury Bishop and Margaret J Bishop appeared on the 1920 Federal Census of Los Molinos, Tehema, California, enumerated 8 March 1920, reporting Erastus as a farmer owning land and living next door to son, Orange.13
     Erastus Ashbury Bishop and Margaret J Bishop appeared on the 1930 Federal Census of Los Molinos, Tehema, California, at Dry Creek Loop, enumerated 2 April 1930.14
     On 21 June 1932, Erastus Ashbury Bishop in Red Bluff, Tehama, California, when he died at the age of 79. The information on the death certificate being supplied by Margaret J Bishop, his widow. At the time of his death Erastus was living in Los Molinos.2
     Erastus was buried on Thursday, 23 June 1932 in the Oak Hill Cemetery, located in Red Bluff, Tehama County, California .2,15

     Florence Bishop was born in October 1897, Oregon.1,2 She was the daughter of Erastus Ashbury Bishop and Margaret J Compton.1
