     Hiram Smith Bishop was born on 16 April 1826 Johnson County, Indiana.1,2,3,4
     On 1 February 1849, Hiram Smith Bishop married Nancy Catherine Lent in Lee County, Iowa.5,6,7,8
     Hiram Smith Bishop and Nancy Catherine Bishop appeared on the 1850 Federal Census of Union Township, Des Moines, Iowa, enumerated 22 October 1850. Their daughter Desdmonia was listed as living with them.7
     Hiram Smith Bishop and Nancy Catherine Bishop appeared on the 1851 State Census of Pottawattamie, Iowa, enumerated 1851. Their daughter Desdmonia was listed as living with them.9
     On 2 October 1853, Hiram and his family via the Oregon Trail migrated to Oregon.2,4
     On 6 July 1854, Hiram Smith Bishop married Anna Matheny in Marion County, Oregon, by Enoch Garrison, Minister of the Gospel..1,2,4
     Hiram Smith Bishop and Anna Bishop appeared on the 1860 Federal Census of Lebanon, Linn, Oregon, enumerated 12 September 1860. Their children Desdmonia, Erastus Ashbury, Mary Elizabeth, Oliver Newton and Chauncery Orlando were listed as living with them.10
     Hiram Smith Bishop and Anna Bishop appeared on the 1870 Federal Census of Franklin Butte, Linn, Oregon, enumerated 20 September 1870, reporting Hiram as a farmer owning real estate valued at $1,000. Their children Mary Elizabeth, Oliver Newton, Chauncery Orlando, William Lewis, Jonathan Elmer, Hiriam Merritt and Marvel Pennington were listed as living with them as well as his son, Erastus Ashbury was listed as living with him.1
     Hiram Smith Bishop and Anna Bishop appeared on the 1880 Federal Census of Franklin Butte, Linn, Oregon, enumerated 1 June 1880 reporting Hiram as a farmer. Their children Chauncery Orlando, William Lewis, Jonathan Elmer, Hiriam Merritt, Marvel Pennington, Ella Melissa, Ora Alla and Minnie A. were listed as living with them.11
     Hiram Smith Bishop died on 12 May 1886 at the age of 60.3
     Hiram was buried in May 1886 in the Franklin Butte Masonic Cemetery, located in Scio, Linn County, Oregon .3

     Hiriam Merritt Bishop was born in March 1866, Oregon.1 He was the son of Hiram Smith Bishop and Anna Matheny.1

     James Arthur Bishop was born in June 1876, Oregon.1 He was the son of Erastus Ashbury Bishop and Margaret J Compton.1
     James Arthur Bishop appeared on the 1880 Federal Census of Lebanon, Linn, Oregon in the household of his parents, Erastus Ashbury Bishop and Margaret J Bishop.1
     James married Libbie M Carpenter, daughter of Alfred J. Carpenter and Martha A Packer, on 28 November 1900 in Wallowa, Oregon.2 James Arthur Bishop was the best man at the wedding of his brother, Roy Elmer "Pop" Bishop and Myrtle A. Carpenter on 15 September 1907 in the M. E. Church, in Enterprise, Wallowa County, Oregon; at 2 o'clock in the afternoon.2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9
