     Dewitt Clinton Wilbur was born on 14 September 1837 in Veteran, Chemung, New York, calculated date based on cemetery records. (d.13 March 1875 @ 37 years, 7 months.) should be 13 Aug 1837.1,2 He was the son of Stephen Van Rensselaer Wilbur and Polly "Sally" Campbell.1
     Dewitt Clinton Wilbur was probably included as a white male, age under 4, in Stephen Van Rensselaer Wilbur's household on the 1840 Census enumerated in Veteran, Chemung, New York. Also enumerated on this page are the families of Abijah Wilber and Lockhart Wilber. (Are they related?)3
     Dewitt Clinton Wilbur enlisted in the Military, in Company I, 103rd Infantry Regiment New York and was promoted to Full Lieutenant 2nd Class on 30 September 1862, on 23 January 1862 in Elmira, Chemung, New York.4
Dewitt Clinton Wilbur ended his military service on 9 March 1863. He probably fought in the following battles:

     Circa March 1869, Dewitt Clinton Wilbur married Anna Ballard Mc Kee in New York, The date of their marriage is based on the year of Eva's birth...5
     Dewitt Clinton Wilbur and Anna Ballard Wilbur appeared on the 1870 Federal Census of Elmira, Chemung, New York, enumerated 18 June 1870. Their daughter Eva was listed as living with them, as well as Jessie C. Stinson a female age 5 born in New York. She is attending school. Who is this little girl. A relative?5 According to the census, Dewitt's occupation was Stair Builder.1,5
     Dewitt Clinton Wilbur died on 13 March 1875 in Elmira, Chemung, New York, at the age of 37.1 Based on the death certificate of Dewitt Clinton Wilbur 13 March 1875, he was living at 1350 Lake Street Elmira, Chemung, New York.1
     Dewitt was buried in the Woodlawn Cemetery, located in Elmira, Chemung County, New York .1

     Dorinda Wilbur was born on 29 April 1816 Dutchess County, New York, her parents were residing at Creek Monthly Meeting.1 She was the daughter of Nathan Wilbur and Abigail Powell.1
     On 25 October 1838, Dorinda Wilbur married Martin H. Combs, son of Henry Combs and Catherine (Unknown), at Creek Monthly Meeting in Clinton, Dutchess County, New York, Male Witnesses to marriage: Isaac Powell (Could be related to mother, Abigail), Reuben Kipp, Nathan Wilber (Father of Dorinda), Mark Wilber (Brother), Townsend Powell (Could be related to mother, Abigail), A.      Dorothy C. Wilbur was born on 17 January 1903, Nebraska.1,2 She was the daughter of Lee Wilbur and Sara Katharine Brewer.
