Jackson Thomas Was a brick layer and farmer, He spent his youth around
Marshall, AR. After his marriage they crossed the plains
by wagon in 1876 to Western Oregon and built the smoke stacks on several
mining mills in Wolf Creek and Albany, Oregon. In 1882 he moved to
Potlatch, Idaho and in Mar 1883 went back to Marshall AR and farmed till
1897 when he came west to Halfway , Baker Co., Oregon where he stayed till
1917 when he moved to Chandler, AZ. He returned to Pine Valley in
1922 with cancer of the bowels and died in 1923.

Pernina Elizabeth
HENSLEY was a housewife, the obituary reads"Her youth was spent
in Tennessee, married David Thomas in 1874. The young couple crossed
the plains by team in 1876 to Oregon. After seven years in the west
they trekked back to Arkansas but in 1897 they again came to Oregon where
they settled in Pine Valley to remain "permanently".
She died of chronic myocarditites and on 19 Nov 1948 was buried in Pine
Haven Cemetery at Halfway, Oregon. |
