This is the "little crick" at the Herbein Farm, flowing southeast on its way to the Schuylkill River. This farm was later purchased by James' son Adam Rickenbach. Adam's daughter Ellen and her husband Lincoln Reber owned the farm until quite recently.

Farther downstream, the creek passes the Jacob Rickenbach stone house (1817), and then
behind the house built by Jacob's great-grandson
Curtin (shown in the photo on the left) before crossing under the canal
and entering the Schuylkill River.
