In Loving Memory of
Doris's Father

Richard A. Martsolf, Sr. 1923 - 2001

We remember the passing of Richard A. Martsolf, Sr. on December 9, 2001.  He is survived by three children, Evelyn Morcelle, East Aurora, N.Y.; Richard Martsolf Jr., Hookstown, and Doris Leek Zagrocki, Hopewell Township; three step-daughters; 11 grandchildren, seven step grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren and 4 step great-grandchildren.

Richard was born January 31, 1923 in Beaver, Beaver County, PA, a son of the late Ernest W. Martsolf and Jessie May Reid Martsofl Stotts.  He graduated from Beaver High School in 1941.  He served as a corporal in the 691st Tank Destroyer Division of the U.S. Army during World War II.  He was a faithful member of the Hookstown Free Methodist Church. He shared his life experiences through poetry and music with his family and friends.

"My greatest legacy, after my final passing
Is without doubt my three children...
Their children - their children -
What a blessing - a family to love
Grandchildren and great grandchildren to play
It will be so hard 'putting out to sea'
Never more these faces I will see
But I leave them all the love in my heart
And wish them the greatest happiness
Through all their lives
And remember - Stay with the Lord"

Richard A. Martsolf, Sr

Chin-Up
(Passing of a loved one)

There are times things happen - we wonder why
That sadden our hearts - leave tears in our eyes
But always it passes - in time - this sorrow
And then there will come - a bright tomorrow

Give thanks to the Lord - for all that you have
Then thank Him again - for the loved one you had
Who for reasons unknown - has just slipped away
To join those in Heaven - in glory they say

Yes - we're all sent here - by the Lord up above
On loan just awhile - to bring His love
But when He calls - then we must go
Return to Him - His will you know

So "Chin-Up'' my dear friends - everything is all right
Your loved ones at home - up in God's light
Let Heaven's joy rest - in your eyes today
Let there be no more tears of yesterday
