George Thomas ROCHELLE
George Thomas ROCHELLE was the 7th child of Captain John ROCHELLE and Patience THOMAS, who married 8 Sept. 1781 in Wake Co., N.C. Capt. John ROCHELLE served in the Revolutionary War and moved to the Richlands District of South Carolina by 1790. Capt. John ROCHELLE and Patience THOMAS had the following children:

- 5)Allen ROCHELLE
- 6)Frances ROCHELLE

- 10)Wiley ROCHELLE.
Most of these children moved from the S.C. area to Carroll Co., Tenn. sometime in the 1830's.

George Thomas ROCHELLE was born about 1790-1800. Not much is known of George Thomas ROCHELLE and many of his siblings while in S.C. He moved from the Union Co. area to Carrol Co., Tenn. and appears in the 1830 census. He and his brothers Allen & Nathaniel ROCHELLE shared a 1600 land grant which was awarded to them from his father's Revolutionary War service. A copy of this grant is at the Carroll Co., Tn. courthouse. He is married to his wife Nancy CLIMER.
They had the following known children:

George Thomas ROCHELLE died sometime before 5 August 1839. In Carroll County Court records, Tilman STONE and Nancy ROCHELLE came into court and were appointed Administrators of George T. ROCHELLE, dec'd.
Nancy ROCHELLE married John FORRESTER. John FORRESTER wrote his will on 7 May 1853; and it was probated in Carroll Co., Tn. in the March Term. 1857.
Will of John FORRESTER
I, John FORRESTER being in good health and sound mind viewing the uncertainty of life do make and publish this as my Last Will & Testament. 1st: I direct that my funeral expences and all my debts be paid as soon after my demise as possible, out of the moneys that I may died possessed of or may first come into the hands of my Executrix. 2nd; I give and bequeath unto my wife Nancy FORRESTER all the property both real and perishable belonging to me after all my debts are paid during the said Nancy FORRESTERS natural life and after her demise all the property both real and perishable to be equally divided between my wifes three youngest sons to wit: George I. ROCHELLE, Tilmon J. ROCHELL, and James I. ROCHELL. Lastly, I do hereby nominate and appoint my wife Nancy FORRESTER my Executrix.
In witness, whereof I set my hand and seal this 7th of May 1853.

William Wiley ROCHELLE was born 12 Jan. 1810 in S.C. He married Feriby WARD, b. 9 Jan. 1821. They were married 1 Jan. 1841 in Carroll Co., Tn.; she was the daughter of Elijah WARD and wife Malinda. They had the following children:

This family eventually moved to Mississippi; where William Wiley died in 1891 & Feriby Ward ROCHELLE died 13 Aug. 1883 in Desoto, Miss.

George Thomas ROCHELLE, Jr.
George Thomas ROCHELLE, Jr. was born 4 Dec. 1831. He married Mary Jane BOGLE, b. 20 Jan. 1843. George Thomas ROCHELLE, Jr. died 1 Aug. 1892 in Gibson Co., Tn. & is buried along with his wife in Pleasant Green Campground Cemetery. She died 4 May 1924; also in Gibson County.
They had the following children:

Tilman T. ROCHELLE
Tilman T. ROCHELLE was living with his wife Lovenia E. in Gibson County, Tn. by 1880 and appears in the north Gibson area of the county. The census states Tilman was born in S.C. along with his father. They had the following children:

- Julias E. ROCHELLE
- Dovie ROCHELLE
