FRANK BOYD was the husband of Augusta Leigh Hanby Boyd. Their marriage and children are listed in the entry for Augusta Leigh. Bonnie Ruth Hanby Raphael wrote about him: "Frank Boyd was Deputy Sheriff of Rockwall County. I remember seeing one of his pistols. Aunt Guss, Jean Frank, and I were in the garden. Bonnie came to tell us she thought she heard someone in the house. I was about eight and I will never forget Aunt Guss going through the house with the pistol in her hand - pointed - ready to shoot!" The aforementioned car wreck in which he was killed was described in an article in the Dallas Morning News on October 26, 1917: "Frank Boyd, 36 years of age, and Miss Jean Hanby, aged 26, both of Rockwall County were killed and three were injured at 10 o'clock yesterday morning on the Mesquite road about four and one-half miles east of Dallas when a large tree was broken off near its base by a strong wind and fell across their automobile as they were coming to Dallas to attend the State Fair. The injured were Carl Hanby, aged 31, brother of the dead woman, light scalp wound; Jeff Boyd, aged 9, son of Frank Boyd, and Bonnie Boyd, 13-year-old daughter of Frank Boyd, who was taken to St. Paul Sanitarium with a fractured skull. She may not survive."
