EMMA CANNON PECK (b. 12-16-1858;

 d. 09-24-1939) was the third child of Joseph

Addison Peck and Ellenora Lloyd Baker Peck.

She married JOHN WALTER HANBY

(b. 02-18-1850; d. 12-15-1916) on June 20, 1878.

 Her sister, Elizabeth, had married John's brother,

Peter, in January of 1877.

 

Emma and John were the parents of ten children: son, FRANCIS HENRY (b. 03-31-1879-d. 08-16-1955; daughter, JULIA LLOYD HANBY JONES (b.03-31-1880-d. 02-05-1905); twins, JOSEPH ALFRED (b. 02-08-1883, d. 01-15-1951) and MARY GRAY (b. 02-08-1883, d. 06-13-1968); son, BEVERLY BANE (b. 10-14-1884,

 

d. 06-04-1960); son, JOHN WALTER, JR. (b. 02-25-1886, d. 01-03-1955); daughter, ROBERTA LEE (b. 10-07-1887, d. 04-11-1918); daughter, WINNIFRED DAVIS (b. 11-18-1893, d. 07-24-1951); daughter, HUGH LAWRENCE HANBY GUGGENHEIM (b. 08-19-1895, d. 06-20-1979); and son, VICTOR RAYMOND (b. 10-14-1898, d. 1974). Emma and John also took a major role in the parenting of seven of their grandchildren. Julia Lloyd died in 1905 and left four children under five years old, including a two-week old baby; these children then lived with their grandparents. Joseph Alfred's three daughters spent many years with their grandparents after their parents divorced and then their mother died.
