Lola Lorene Morris was born 24 Jun 1924 in Cherryvale, Montgomery Co., KS. On 21 Jul 1942 she married Philip Barney Perry. On 14 Jul 1948 in Reno, Washoe Co., NV she married James Donald Coombe. Lorene was her sister Elva's guardian angel when she was young. She had five children, two boys and three girls and lost two babies. She was a housewife for many years and then went back to school and got her L.V.N. license. She was always kind and compassionate. Lorene was always the last one to leave for school as a child and lagged behind her siblings. She never seemed to get rattled or in a hurry. She worked at a convalescent hospital before retiring.

Lola Lorene Coombe, 79, resident of Eureka, California, passed away January 28, 2004. Lola was born June 24, 1924, in Cherryvale, Kansas, one of 13 children.
In 1942 she married and had three children of her own. During World War II, she worked in the shipyards at Mare Island. She married her second husband in 1949 and had four additional children. She worked as a waitress for many years, but in 1968 became a Licensed Vocational Nurse until her retirement in 1996.
Lola is survived by her sons, Philip Perry and Dale Coombe; daughters Phyllis Jones and Barbara Coombe, son-in-law, Steve Caprile, grandchildren, Vern, David, Michael, Philip Jones, Rick Havin, Michael Vaile, Donald Coombe, Seth Caprile, Lorraine Harrison, Gloria Lucas, Melissa Petranek, Brenda Perry, Gail Jensen, and Denise Finley; great -grandchildren, Bryan, Joshua, Michael, Krystina Jones, Julianna Merriott, James and Rebecca Wielahan, Zack, Jesse, Casie Jensen, Rachel and Jacob Harrison, Randal Mielke, Scyler Petranek, Alexander Posey, Jesse and Rebecca Lucas; great -great- granddaughter, Katelyn; sisters Nora Tucker, Elva Dumas, Bonnie Benback and their husbands; brothers, Everett and Jack Morris and their wives; and numerous nieces and nephews. She is also survived by her dear friend , Sammie Vaile.
Lola was preceded in death by her husbands, Philip Perry, December 7, 1970, and James Coombe, January 4, 1986; her parents Frances [sic] and Veda Morris; daughters, Sharon Ann Perry, Kathryn Marie Coombe, and Cheryl Ann Caprile; son-in-law, George Jones; grandson, Philip Perry; sisters, Jessie Shultz, Rhoda Chapman, Viola Hanick and Corrine Morris, brothers, Francis, Bob, and Louis Morris.
There will be a visitation at Chapel of the Ferns-Cooper Mortuary on Monday, February 2, 2004, from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm, immediately followed by a service in Chapel of the Ferns-Cooper Mortuary Chapel, Eureka. There will be a private family interment at Sunset Memorial Park.
Arrangements are entrusted to Chapel of the Ferns-Coopers Mortuary, Eureka.

Louis Earl "Louie" Morris was born 18 Jul 1917 in Burley, Cassia Co., ID. On 20 Apr 1940 in Petaluma, Sonoma Co., CA he married Veronica Bonner. He died 15 Aug 1995 in Mendocino Co., CA. Louie joined the Civilian Conservation Corps in about 1935 when he was about 18 years old. He was sent to California and made $30 a month and the government sent $25 of that home to his family. He never came back to Arkansas. He later worked for Cal-Trans in Willits for many years before retiring. He had three children two boys and a girl. He loved horses.

Mr. Morris died Aug. 15.
He was a native of Idaho and had lived in California 59 years, moving here from Arkansas. He was an equipment operator for the California Divisions of Highways for 28 years before retiring in 1975. He then worked on a cattle ranch for 15 years.
He is survived by his wife, Veronica, two sons, Frank of Willis and Everett of San Diego; one daughter, Earlene Ward of Friant; three brothers, Bob of Oregon, Everett of Alaska and Jack of Willits; six sisters, Jesse Shultz of Missouri, Viola Hanick of Arizona, Lorene Coombe of Eureka, Nora Tucker of Willits, Elva Dumas of Citrus Heights and Bonnie Benback of Redwood Valley; 11 grandchildren and four great -grandchildren.
