Leatha Irene Morris, 86, of Grants Pass, died Friday, Jan. 26, 2001, at a local adult foster care home.
No services are planned. Private inurnment will be at Russian River Cemetery in Ukiah, Calif. Chapel of the Valley Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
She was born Leatha Irene Nowlin on Jan. 7, 1915 in Gravette, Ark. On July 15, 1933, in Gravette she married Robert Chestner Morris, who died Oct. 30, 1999. They lived in Ukiah from 1936 to 1961. In 1961, they moved to Grants Pass after living in Bozeman, Mont. She was a homemaker.
She was a member of Jehovah's Witnesses.
She raised foster children in Grants Pass and enjoyed sewing and gardening.
Survivors include two sons, Daniel Morris of Bozeman and Brian Morris of Battle Mountain, Wash.; two daughters, Iona Dashiell of Grants Pass and Nora Powell of Medford; a sister, Opal Plank of Orland, Calif..; two brothers, Alva Nowlin of Gravette and Clifford Nowlin, whereabouts unknown; three grandchildren, seven great -grandchildren and one great -great -grandchild.
A son, Robert Zane Morris, died in 1942. 11
