Although Thomas was only two when his father, Guy, died, he inherited Guy's best suit of armour and set of harness.
Edward II asked the pope for a dispensation for Thomas to marry his cousin Katherine.

After fighting at Crecy and Poitiers, Thomas went on crusade. He brought back to England the son of the king of Lithuania, whom Thomas had christened in London (the prince took the name Thomas, presumably to honour Warwick). According to one source, "His lordship was not more distinguished by his valour than his piety." Like his father, Thomas made a number of bequests to churches and religious foundations.
Died of the plague.
