"Brumback-Cohen Wedding Vows Said At Home Ceremony Friday Evening"
The bride wore brown, a smart wool street dress, with white accessories when Barbara Brumback and Darby Cohen took their wedding vows Friday eve in the Vernon Wilson home on Willow avenue. Her corsage was a white orchid with stephanotis. The bridegroom also wore brown for the 7 o'clock ceremony at which the bride's uncle, Superior Judge Lilburn Gibson, read the vows.
Mrs. Eulis Briggs, matron of honor wore an attractive pink wool dress with orchid corsage. Robert Reid, a high school classmate now attending college in San Francisco, was best man.
Only family members of the bride's family and the bridegroom's people witnessed the ceremony. The bride's mother, Mrs. Vernon Wilson, was in a beige knit suit with orchid corsage, and Mrs. Dan Cohen, mother of the bridegroom, wore a brown knit dress with orchid corsage.
At 8 o'clock there was a reception for the other relatives and friends at the municipal clubhouse. Punch and bride's cake were served. The wedding gifts were on a special table with wedding bells as background.
After a brief honeymoon, the newlyweds are now at home at 417 McPeak Street.
While the ceremony was quietly solemnized it holds an important place among the season's events due to the prominence of the families of the young couple. 75
