children. He died 24 Oct 1845.

Bright) 12 Oct 1887. She was b. 1 Sep 1848, dau of Kyle
Bright and his wife Elizabeth Moore McClung (dau. of Joseph
- Redheaded Joe). Charles and Ellen resided at Lewisburg,
WV. They had no children.
Charles William left these notes in his Bible:
My sister Mary J. McClung died June 4, 1849 age 16 years. Have no record of her birth."
"My second sister Susan R McClung died about the year 1851. Have neither date of birth or death.

VA.. He married in 1830 to Elizabeth Jarrett (b.1808; d. 1900). She was born in
Greenbrier Co. 27 Jul 1806 to James Madison and Ruth Lockridge (Gwinn) Jarrett. They
emigrated to Pattonsburg, MO in 1840. They traveled by team and were six weeks on the
road with the Joseph W.M. Graham family and others from Greenbrier Co. He entered land
located three miles north of Pattonsburg. The family is found in the 1850 c of Daviess Co.,
MO (p. 439). He died 1868 in Mo. They had twelve children.
Diana Bechaver is a descendant and has provided more information. This family was also found in the 1860 census of Daviess Co., MO and the 1870
census where Alexander was listed as a farmer, with Real Estate valued at $4500. He had built a a two story log cabin with 10 fireplaces. He later built a two story frame house. He owned several parcels of land in the area.
He lived his life in Daviess Co., MO and died there 7 Aug 1871 at age 80. He was buried in Bethel Cem. (Daviess Co. MO Cemetery Index, pg 114). His wife,
Sallie died 12 Mar 1899 and was buried at Bethel Cem.

5 June 1829 in Greenbrier, VA. He married Mary C. Graham 22 Jun 1854 in Daviess Co.,
MO. (Record from Diane Bechaver) She was the daughter of James Johnson and Martha (Gwinn) Graham. She was b. 24 Nov 1833 in Monore Co. VA.
They came by covered wagon from Greenbrier Co., WV in 1854,
bringing two slaves with them. They purchased land and settled in a log cabin on the
farmstead two miles northeast of Pattonsburg where they reared four children. Mary died
23 Jul 1890 and James died 6 Jan 1909. They are buried at Bethel Cem.
The first child of James and Mary McClung was b. 22 Mar 1855 at Pattonsburg, Daviess Co., MO. She married Alexander King White 2 Feb 1875 at Pattonsburg.
He was born 27 Dec 1853 at Mitcheltree, Martin, IN to John W. and Susan (Fields) White. Martha Alice and Alexander had 8 children born in Missouri and Kansas. They moved to Kansas
abt 1881 and by 1900 were in Indian Territory (OK) where their children were marrying.
Martha Alice died 13 Dec 1903 at Cleveland, Pawnee, OK and was buried at Woodlawn Cem. Her husband, Alexander died 12 Feb 1929 at Pawhuska, Osage, OK.
He was buried at Woodlawn.
Their children were: Ada Adella, Amy Alberta, Bertha May, Ella Susan, Hattie Lula, Wilford Kelso, Ethel Alice, Velva Veresta White. (Diana Kay Bechaver, desc.)

The fourth child of James Jarrett and Mary C. Graham McClung was b. 5 Jun 1868 at Pattonsburg, Daviess, MO. He married Anna Henry 12 Jan 1910 in Daviess Co., MO. In the Daviess Co. Centennial History (McC J 17:19) it is stated that she was the only female doctor in the county. She was b. 31 May 1878, dau. of Erdman Henry from Germany. She was the youngest of a family of eight. She and her sister, Frances, entered medical school at Michegan U. where they graduated in 1899. Her first practice was in Kansas City, then she returned to her former home to start a practice and care for failing parents. There she married an earlier schoolmate. They reared two children: Dorothy F. McClung and Mrs. Howard R. Jones.
Leonard J. died 12 Oct 1948 at Daviess Co. MO and was buried at the Bethel Cem. there.
The first child of Leonard Jarrett and Anna Henry McClung was b. in Daviess Co., MO. She married a Mr. Everist.
The second child of Leonard Jarrett and Anna Henry McClung was born in Daviess Co., MO. She married a Mr. Bush and farmed the original homestead.

The fifth child of Alexander and Elizabeth Jarrett McClung was. b.
5 Oct 1837 in Greenbrier Co., VA. He came to Pattonsburg in 1840 with his parents. He
grew up on the farm three miles north of Pattonsburg. He married Susannah Taylor 10 Nov
1861 in Daviess Co., MO. He appears in the 1870 census of Daviess Co. in his father's home*.
He farmed there and reared his eleven children there. He took care of his father until he
died at age 80. Samuel was a charter member of the Masonic Lodge at Pattonsburg. His
wife, Susannah, died in 1906 and he died 16 Feb 1920 at Daviess Co., MO. Their children
were: Charles F., Edward E., Ira D., Guy M., Irvin L., Alexander N., Oliver M., Walter T.,
Susan E. (Slater), Ida (Aldridge), and Elsie (Burton). (Submitted to D. K. Bechaver by

My grandpa said the first home was a small log cabin on the west side
of the land. The second one was a large two story log cabin, just west
of this house. I dont know who built this house but Samuel lived here
untill his death and his son Guy, was born here and lived here untill

in Daviess Co., MO in 1868 on his father's farm. In 1894 he purchased a farm north of
Pattonsburg. He belonged to the Masonic Lodge like his father before him who was a charter
member at Pattonsburg.
Maude Harrell came with her parents to Missouri from Illinois.
In 1899 Ira and Maude drove a team all the way to Gallatin to be married. They reared three
children: Lowell b. 1900; Leo b. 1902; and Lalah b. 1904. They were all members of the
Bethel Church. The children attended Everly School.
Maude died in 1938 and Ira in 1947.
The first child of Ira D. and Maude Harrell McClung was born
in 1900. He graduated at pattonsburg in 1918. He was one of the most outstanding athletes
in his area. He later graduated from Central College at Fayette, MO. He md Ethel Coffey
in 1918. A son, Paul was born in 1920 and graduated from Boulder, CO. He was severely
injured on a Navy Ship during the war. He died in 1977. Lowell joined Western Auto and
advanced to supervisor of the Eastern Division where he met and married Mildred Brown.
Because of illness they returned to the farm in 1940. He died in 1954.
The second child of Ira D. and Maude Harrell McClung was
born in 1902 in Daviess Co., MO. Leo remained in farming and married Etta Holcomb.
They had two daughters: Lorreane who md Robert Fetters; and Ivonne who md Lloyd Warden.
Leo later married Bessie Myrick and lived in Cameron, MO.
The third child of Ira D. and Maude Harrell McClung was born
in 1904 in Daviess Co., MO. She graduated in 1922 at Pattonsburg, then attended Maryville
College and taught at Virginia Ridge, MO. She married Ross Nickell of Jamesport in 1930.
They owned and operated an oil company in Cameron until two years before Ross died n 1974.

The seventh child of Samuel and Susannah Taylor McClung was born in Daviess Co., MO, 30 Oct 1878. On 16 Feb 1907 he married Annette O'Daniel of Coffey, MO at the Methodist parsonage in Pattonsburg. They lived their entire married lives on their farm just north of Pattonsburg on the Oak Ridge Road. Alex died 5 Aug 1936. Annette continued to live on the farm with the help of her brother, Charles O'Daniel.
They had one daughter. Annette died 21 Apr 1958 in a hospital at St. Joseph.

The ninth child of Samuel and Susannah Taylor McClung was born in Daviess Co., MO in 1876. He married Eva May Davis ( b. 1876 to James D. and Mary J. Slater Davis). They had three children. Eva May died in 1903 and Walter died in 1947.
The first child of Walter T. and Eva May Davis McClung was born in 1898. She married James C. Lovejoy in 1925. They had two children: James Walter and Joy Deon (Johnson). Frona died in 1963.

Allen became a millwright and cabinet-maker. After coming to MO, he farmed, married, and

The fifth child of Edward and
Sallie Viney McClung was born 1805 (1850c Daviess) in Greenbrier Co., VA. He married Sallie Lusher 15 Feb 1837 (Gr Co p. 42). They resided in Pattonsburg, MO. They probably came in 1840 with his brother, Alexander. A grand-daughter, Minnie McClung Peniston, reported that John preempted land three and one-half miles west of Jamesport in Auberry Grove. Later there was a school house built on this land. It was called the McClung Schoolhouse and was built of logs with a fireplace. The building was covered with clapboards and with sliding windows and a heavy walnut door. The seats were made of slabs with two legs on each end. This school building survived until about 1930. Just west of this school was an old Indian camp with many of their graves on the top of a bluff near a spring. (McC J 17:19)
John and Sallie had 4 children. John died when Edward C. was a small boy so that was probably before 1900.

Melinda cared for the soldiers during the Civil War, near Blue Sulphur Springs in 1862. Their originial house was owned by Lucy Tuckwiller and later by her son William Tuckwiller. Melinda died 11 Dec 1891.

(W)VA. He died April 18, 1862. On December 23, 1851 he was licensed in McDowell, Greenbrier Co., (W)VA
to marry Lydia Walker. Lydia Walker was the daughter of John T. & Elizabeth McCoy Walker. Lydia was
born December 17, 1830 in Greenbrier Co., (W)VA & died August 26, 1911.
Greenbrier records show a marriage between Lydia McClung and William N. Nickell on February 7, 1867.
