    The fourth child of John and Janet/Jennett Thompson McClung was b. abt 1736 in what became Rockbridge Co., VA. He md Nancy Dickenson (probably about 1767). She was of unknown parentage. She was captured by the Indians in her infancy and later found deserted in a fort. She was adopted and raised by Col. Dickenson. James and Nancy had six children.

    James's will was made 10 Aug 1789 and probated 28 Sep 1790. They resided in Greenbrier Co. Nancy Dickenson McClung, widow, md 2) 13 Sep 1791, Joseph Dickson. (Gr Mg,12)

The marriage bond for William and Margaret has not been located but it is presumed to have been made in Greenbrier Co. as their bonds are not extant. They had nine children.

     Mary Margaret Bollar McClung died 31 Oct 1859 and was buried in the Williamsburg Cem. next to her mother.

    He md 2) Martha McMillion. (This marriage does not appear in the Greenbrier Co. Mg books). No children. Martha was a sister of John's (Black) wife. Both the first wives and second wives of "Black John" and "Long Billie" were sisters.

    William died 10 Aug 1866. (Gr D, 1853-97). His will (Gr W.Bk 3:116) appoints his son, Bollar and John Burr as executors.

(1850c Gr, 63). Bollar was a farmer. They had three children.
     Bollar md 2) Mrs. Mary Gillilan, nee Beard. She was the widow of James Thomas Gillilan (Bollar's son-in-law). They resided at Lewisburg, WV. They had no children. Bollar died 16 Sep 1896, age 92 (Gr D,1853-97) and was probably buried at Williamsburg, though the stone cannot be located.

     The first child of Bollar and Elizabeth Wallace McClung was b. abt 1831 in Grbr. He md Elizabeth R. Gillilan 21 March 1853 (lic Gr). She was the daughter of George Russell and Martha Hill Gillilan of Greenbrier Co, WV. They had five children. This couple, along with other relatives of Gillilan and Bollar moved to Missouri in the 1850s. William enlisted in the Confederate Army 1 Aug 1862 at Rose Hill, Johnson Co., MO. His wife remained in Urich while he served. He died 29 Jan 1863 in Little Rock, AR of pneumonia, and was buried in a Civil War Cemetery there.

Bessie recalled that they had an apple orchard where bountiful fruit was available each year. James T. died 13 Mar 1913 and was buried at the Cem. Urich, MO.

     The second child of James Thomas and Elizabeth McCoy McClung was born 20 Jun 1886 at Urich, Henry, MO. She md Samuel Walter Fox 16 Aug 1902 at KC, MO. He was the son of John Hamilton Fox who was the grandson of Elizabeth McClung so Samuel and Bess were 2nd cousins. When they were married, they surprised their friends by sending back word that they had gone to Texas to get married.

     Bess remembered growing up that her father had a herd of cattle roaming in the Knob Creek area (the Joe McCoy farm), and one of her childhood chores was to pump water for the cows. She always enjoyed helping her father with the outdoor work. When she was three or four, she narrowly escaped death when one of the boards supporting a pump broke through and she fell into the well containing eight feet of water. Her mother, who was doing the family wash close by, screamed for help and her cries were heard by George Bailey who was "up the hill" at work. Fortunately, he had his horse and arrived quickly, jerked the pump out, jumped into the well and rescued the little girl. She said she recalled that several children had been known to fall into wells, a common hazard when wells were usually the only source of water supply.

     Bess and Samuel Walter Fax had two children: Ruth b. 1909 and James Thomas Fox b. 1913 at Urich, MO. Bess died 14 Feb 1979 at Urich, MO.

She md James Thomas Gillilan (b. 20 Oct 1826 in Gr to Geo and Martha Gillilan; d. 9 May 1877). This marriage is recorded as John T. Gillilan 26 Dec 1854, (Gr Mg Bk V:1B) They went to Missouri, Henry Co. with her sister, Elizabeth and her husband, William McClung. They remained in Henry County except for a few years during the Civil War when they removed for a time to Davies Co., MO. There was much fighting in Henry County and raids by bush whackers which is presumably the reason for the move to Davies County. Their children were:
Harvey, Mary Annis, James Bollar, George William, John Franklin, Amanda Elizabeth Gillilan. She died 8 Sep 1868 in Urich, MO and was originally buried in the Kepner Cem. When James T. died, he requested that her remains be moved to Mt. Tabor Cem, in Lafayette Co.MO.

    The ninth child of Dickson and Eleanor McClung was b. 18 Feb 1846. He md 1) Rilla Emerick. They had six children. They went west before 1870 and settled first in Cass Co., MO with others from Virginia, including Charles and Rebecca. At Cass Co. Kyle married Lavina Emerick's daughter, Merilla. They moved to Cowley Co. KS where Merilla already owned property in her own name. After the 1889 Oklahoma Run, he settled at Lawton, OK.
    Kyle md 2) Rebecca Tyree McClung, widow of Charles McClung. They had no children but reared Kyle's from the previous marriage. The 1900 Census records them in Kay Co., OK. Kyle died 5 Aug 1913 in OK where he is buried in the Fairlawn Cem.

    The fifth child of James and Nancy Dickenson McClung was b. abt 1779 in what became Greenbrier Co., WV. She married 21 June 1812 to Samuel Kincaid (Gr Mg,35) (Mg Bond donated by Harry McClung). The 1850 census shows them with Jas (Jos?) b. 1813 and Hugh b. 1827. There is a Robert Kincaid next door, b. 1824 and on the other side a James Kincaid b. 1816.
