Possibly the first child of Samuel Caldwell and his second wife was born 4 July 1763 in VA. When he was 15 he
enlisted to serve in the Revolutionary War. He served in the Virginia Militia in 1778. He married to Meeke
Perrin 30 Nov 1786 in Lincoln Co. KY. He joined the Militia of Bourbon County, KY from 1787 and 1788.
Saml, Kinkead and James Caldwell were listed on the Bourbon Co KY Tax List 1792 on page 2, and 1795 on page 4 and
Bourbon Co Court Records Jan 1793, pg 596 "To James and William Caldwell for Smelting the sharp pound? 19"10.0
Meeke inherited half his estate. She sold it to Mr. Sabastian. They did not have any children living by 1840.
Apparently in 1844, Meeke applied for a pension based on his revolutionary service .

place of his father, Samuel Caldwell. James was about 15 years old when he enlisted in VA Militia 1778.
