Dobberstein Digest On-Line: Favorite Sites

FAVORITE SITES

The great thing about the Internet is its access to a virtual world of outside information, much of it unpublished anywhere else, stretching far outside our local libraries, and beyond the shores where our immigrant forefathers sailed. Here are a few Internet sites I have found of use in my research, mainly concentrating on genealogy, but also a few additional expressing some of my other personal interests. Due to the volume of Generalogical Societies and Family Associations I collected over the past few months unassociated with the Dobberstein surname, I created a new page to collect these links and references located at <http://freepages.family.rootsweb.com/~rootsrus/societies.html>.

If you see or use a good Internet site connected with genealogy not shown below, feel free to send a note suggesting it with the full URL site address. Dobberstein descendants are also encouraged to add their own homepage they've created to the list (see below for details). As much as I try to keep the list current and active, there may be links that fail or refer to sites that have moved. If you notice any faults or connections that fail please send me a note informing of the failure or misconnection. Thanks and enjoy your exploration.

GENEALOGY PRODUCT VENDORS

Although these vendors are in the business for profit, many of them offer substantial value, especially for the beginner. Many of the publishers listed not only produce quality magazines and books that you may find worth subscribing or purchasing, but offer significant database collections and on-line surname queries, with some services fee-based and other offered free.
