St. John's Church of Ireland

 

This parish church was built on the site of an old medieval Catholic parish church. The stones from the old church were removed by Rev. Mr. Hamilton and used in the building of Tyrella House. This newer church was built in 1840 and rebuilt 1870. The first rector was Rev. John F. Gordon from Downpatrick parish church.

Records from 1839, 20th century graveyard; there is a separate field with burials from the nearby British military/airforce base dating from 1907
