James Humphrey Powell, 81, Little Dixie, died at 12 P.M. Tuesday, Feb. 19,2002 at Methodist Hospital.

He was a deacon of Union Hill General Baptist Church in Little Dixie.  He was a farmer and had worked for the State of Kentucky for 12 years.  He was also retired from the Henderson County School System Maintenance Department.

Survivors include his wife of 51 years, Ellen Sue Powell: one daughter Joy Powell Wright of Henderson: one son, Steven Wayne Powell of Little Dixie: and four grandchildren.

Services will be at 10 A.M. Friday at Tapp Funeral Home.  The Revs Bob Fulcher, Richard Snyder and Fred Whitmore will officiate. Burial will be in Fairmont Cemetery

Friends may call from 2 to 8 P.M. Thursday and after 8 A.M. Friday at the Funeral home.
