Daughter of James and Martha [Wood] Stanclift born East Middletown, Hartford County, CT Aug. 12, 1745(1) baptized East Middletown, CT Aug.18, 1745(2) married 1.Jan. 14, 1776 in Southbury, CT ASAHEL BROWN(3) married 2. JOSEPH CLARK of Woodbury, CT. Ashahel Brown was listed as one of those serving in the Revolutionary War from Woodbury, Litchfield County, CT, but the National Archives provided no record of his service. On Mar. 24, 1791 Joseph Clark of Woodbury, Litchfield County, CT sold to Abraham Baley of Chatham the land which had been given by deed of entailment to Martha Wood alias Stanclift(4).

The 1790 Census Records indicate that Joseph Clark of Washington, Litchfield County, CT which was formerly the Judea Society of Woodbury, had at that date 3 males over 16 years, 2 males under 16 years and 4 females in the family.
