Daughter of Joseph and Electa [Tennant] Stancliff born Chatham, CT 1824, married Sept. 11, 1842 JOSEPH WILLIAMS(1) born CT 1823. They were both listed as "of Chatham" at the time of the marriage. In 1850 they shared a house with The Hilliard family of Laura's sister Jerusha. There was a Julia Williams born Ct 1827 living in their household at that date. Joseph was running a Livery Stable, by the following year when the birth of their daughter was registered he was a "hotel-Keeper".
