Benjamin W. Armiger

Benjamin W. Armiger was born in southern Anne Arundel County about 1851 to John
W. Armiger Sr. and Henrietta Neff. He never married.

From at least 1885, "Uncle Bennie" maintained a summer photography stand
in Tolchester. It was there that he met Elmer H. Josselyn of Freeport, Maine.
Josselyn kept a confectionary stand also in Tolchester. During the winter months, Elmer rented
a room in Baltimore from Bennie's mother. Through this arrangement,  Bennie's sister,
Sallie Armiger, married Elmer Josselyn in 1890.

On May 22, 1906 Uncle Bennie bought a house at 722 North Broadway where he lived
with his mother and maiden sister, Harriett. At various times after 1892, the
daughter and two sons of his brother, John Jr. of Anne Arundel County, also
lived with them so they could attend school in Baltimore. Benjamin Armiger died
23 November 1932 and was buried in Loudon Park Cemetery.
