Walter Benn was born in England in 1837. He made
his first
appearance as an actor at the Boston Museum on
25 August 1862
as Edward Digby in "Men of the Day".
He was a member of the Stock Company until
2 June
1864 when it appears he left with John Wilkes Booth
after the last
performance on June 2. Booth is not known
to have had
anyone traveling with him, but perhaps he persuaded
Walter to
go to Baltimore. This photo was made by the
George C. Mueller Studio on South Broadway in Fell's
Point.
Mueller was at this location from 1875 until 1886.
