Baltimore City Nineteenth-Century Photos

Martha Cornish Berry
Hiram L. Berry

Martha Berry and son Hiram L. Berry

This photo is of the submitter's great grandmother, Martha N. (Cornish) Berry and
great uncle Hiram L. Berry. Albert H. Berry, Sr. was her husband.
The cabinet card was made in the Quartley Studio at 11 East
Baltimore Street probably between 1882 and 1893. This must have
been an exciting excursion to the city since the family lived about 40
miles away in Harford County.

Hiram moved to Tarrytown, New York just after the turn of
the century.

[Editorial note: I tried to increase the contrast and focus to
create a sharper image on the right, but met only with minimal
success]
