Cynthia K. (Chace) Hudson

Cynthia K. Chace Hudson

This carte-de-visite of Cynthia K. (Chace) Hudson was made in the
Richard Walzl Studio at 46 North Charles Street
between 1873 and 1881, probably about 1875.

This is a notable image mostly because of the pose. She is actually
sitting with her back to the camera and her body rotated
to the left. Although we take such poses for granted today,
it is quite unusual to see this flare for the dramatic
from the 1870s.

Peter Sarazin has submitted this image. For more information
