The photo-genealogist's or historian's dream was
a reality for
Sharon Arnold. Here's her accounting of the history
of these great images,
" ... they were discovered in an old trunk by a
distant cousin
who sent them to another cousin who in turn gave
them to me."

The Eversmeier family lived on Eastern Avenue in
Fell's Point in a community
that in it's time was heavily populated by German
immigrants. These cabinet card
images document major events in the family. The
earliest one, in the middle of
sisters Liz and Mary as children was taken at a
South Broadway studio.
On the left is Mary again probably taken at the
time of her confirmation. This image
was made in the Flickenschildt gallery also on
South Broadway. Notice her dress
with the huge puffy sleeves. The detail is much
more impressive in the
original (which had to be decreased for the web).
On the right is another sister, Selma Eversmeier,
probably the most recent photo
dating from the 1890s. This image was made in the
Kinling Studio and is
probably once again a confirmation photograph.
Below is a close-up cropped image of the middle photo.
