When I saw this photograph, I just couldn't pass
it up! Look at that
hat with the ostrich plum, the dress and the jewelry
(there's a charm
bracelet on her right hand) ... hold on a minute!
Take a really close look at that jewelry. The pin
at her neck says
"FANNIE"
Although this cabinet card, made by the Quartley
Studio at 11 East Baltimore Street
between 1887 and 1904 (likely closer to 1890) has
no handwritten
subject identification, we know this beautiful
and well-dressed young woman
was named Fannie.
