Baltimore City Nineteenth-Century Photos

Julia Hesse

Julia Hesse

The back of this photo is labelled,
""Julia Hesse, Dad's Grandmother""
The photo was made in the M.D. Trainor Studio
at 327 West Lexington Street, which was
after the Baltimore fire of 1904.
The image is a picture postcard.
I'm guessing that it dates about 1910.

In the 1880 Baltimore City Census index
Julia Hesse is located in the fifth ward
as the 28-year old Hanover-born wife of
Christopher Hesse, who was 40 from Hessen Cassel
and their children, all born in Maryland:
Carrie, George, August and Charles
ages 10, 8, 6 years and the last 4 months.
